Looks like a good month to open with a new thread of juicy findings as summer draws near! :pimp:

It's been a while since I posted any goodies so I'll start things off with the stuff I gathered the last few months:

I picked up a beaten up Nintendo Wii. The power cord's tip is chewed up along with the middle stretch of the video cable, the memory card doors are missing, it's fairly grimy, and it only came with a sensor bar but no Wiimote. $19.99. It's a replacement for another one I picked up a couple of years back that had disk problems, I dismantled it according to a YouTube video series, but after taking it apart up to the end of the first DIY video, my DSL modem died from a power surge and I never saw the other two videos or reversed all my steps to put it back together again. Hopefully the one I picked up today won't have disk grinding problems so I don't have to take it apart too.

Picked up a White Sega Saturn (Japanese) unit locally for once. Friend of mine tipped me off that a local store had one, mint in box, with Nights. Slight discoloration but otherwise flawless. Replaced the battery and everything works fine. Paid 135 for it. Not a bargain, but not easy to find domestically either.

Then I picked up Alien Trilogy (love this game) which is basically a Doom clone set in the Aliens universe. 13 bucks, minty shape, with the spine card. Thankfully not a TON of Japanese required to play.

Now the reason I wanted a JDM Saturn was to track down my favorite arcade game ever, Dungeons and Dragons. It's not going to be a cheap game but I freaking adore that game so hopefully I can find one and see what else is available for the system.

Also picked up an 8 input 2 output av selector for 20 bucks. My new TV only had a single A/V input so that solves that problem, at least for now.

If you have a PS3, the D&D arcade games got a disc release in Japan, and that version supports 4 players (and is only about $30). I have both console versions, and overall I prefer the PS3 for the 4 player. Saturn version is pretty cool, though, if it's just something you've always wanted.

I only recently heard the D&D remake for PS3 got a disc release in Japan, long after I paid for the digital-only western version. :(

Well crap, now I'm conflicted lol. Yep I have a PS3. I was aware of the digital game, but I am not a fan of digital games and wanted the physical released Saturn game. I didn't realize there was a physical copy for PS3. Decisions decisons.

I sold my Saturn a few years ago and fortunately a little bit of extra cash made its way into my bank account and the first thing in my mind was to recover my Saturn.

Checked on eBay and won an auction for a boxed Saturn with a few games for 130 usd including EMS shipping from Japan. After that I had no doubt in recovering Dungeons and Dragons Collection and found a near mint cib copy with obi for 94.99 usd incl. shipping.

To be honest, I haven't played the PS3 HD port of D&D because the Darkstalkers video modes programmed by the port developer looked quite bad. If the game was ported by HEXADRIVE, the ones that ported OKAMI, the port would had an implicit quality seal, but I don't trust IRON GALAXY STUDIOS :P

I still haven't received my Saturn and D&D Collection and I can't wait to play it on my big old mitsubishi CRT

Weirdly, the Japanese D&D wasn't worked on by Iron Galaxy, even though the US was. Capcom had team members from the original Japanese arcade version do it internally. Odd, but true.

Got this from a Garage sale this weekend. I have been looking for a boxed SNES forever and this one is in great shape, minus the yellow console. Came with a couple boxed games but nothing special. $20

I didn't really find it in the wild, but I ordered the European version of Steins;gate for the PS3. Pretty pumped to get started on it.

Perfect candidate for a new paint job. I actually have been having great success with painting yellowing older consoles for people. With the range of colors available and a little creativity you can do amazing transformations with a little practice and a lot of patience.

'Found' this online. Odds of getting it in the wild CIB were slim and I really wanted this in my collection!

Found this at the only thrift store I bother going to anymore. No terminal corrosion from old batteries, which is rare for me. The store also had a shoebox filled with Atari 2600 carts, most of which were missing all their labels. I passed on them, but now I'm thinking I might go back and grab a few. Who knows what I'll find!

I've only had two purchases this month. But one of them is my best find a while.

RCA 22 Inch HD TV (New) - $139.99

It may not be a high end set, but considering that my old TV was a 25 year old CRT, this is a major improvement. Even my SD systems don't look that bad on it.

Lot of SNES games (Used) - $20.00

Final Fantasy II (Missing Map)

Final Fantasy III (Missing Poster)

Secret of Evermore (Complete)

Super Mario All Stars

Lagoon

This was a completely random find. My sister bid and won a Facebook auction for an antique desk, and she asked me to help her move it from the seller's place. While we were there, I noticed the SNES games on a table.

I inquired about them and they told me that they were for sale as well. After checking the contents of the boxed games, I offered $20.00 for just the Final Fantasy games. But the seller's husband told me I could have all of the games for that price!

I picked up a minty looking Kirby's Return to Dream Land on Wii over the weekend from my local GameStop. After a birthday coupon for 20% off, card discount, and cashing in points for $$$ off, I only paid $25 for it. The thing is though it looks like GameStop went and pulled a Xenoblade/One Piece/Metroid Prime Trilogy on us as it appears this was a reprint. I had a suspicion and went to the company's website to do a stock check. Sure enough, there's a listing of almost every store in the region as having one so that's a dead giveaway that I picked up a reprint. :|

Meh...at least it looks like the original unlike Metroid Prime Trilogy.

I wanted to add to this earlier but I kept finding stuff, BUT seeing how its the last of the month I wont find any more since I am staying inside because of the impending heat death that's waiting outside.

MAH FINDS!

http://webpages.charter.net/niku_sama/Finds/6-15%20finds.jpg

so time line, Miracle piano was beginning of the month, dreamcast was yesterday (6-29) and the game boy player disc was today (6-30)

so the run down

Miracle Piano $10
PSX (SCPH 7501)$5
Gamecube (w/ Digital out) $5
PSOne multi tap $6
Dreamcast system (HKT-3020 Made August 2000), cords, x2 controllers, x2 rumble packs, x2 controller extensions, x2 VMU $12
Gamecube GBA player disc $3

Not Pictured:
Sega CDX AC Adapter (Mk-4122) $3

the Piano was something I thought I would never find, its not the Nintendo one but it also doesnt have the instrument chart that the PC version had on top be the buttons. my guess is Genesis version? either way it doesn't seem to hurt the value of them much at all, it was loose, no cords or any thing at a Goodwill outlet, it went through the store and all the stickers say $20 but I paid half that. I had, years ago, picked up an old A/C adapter I thought went with one of these and was going to use it as trade bait but I never did and now its floating in a box some where. I did look it up and the ones pictured look like the one I got many moons ago.

The dreamcast was amazing considering what it came with for $12. all of that was one purchase which surprised me considering earlier in the month they had a loose one with a "custom" paint job for $10 and no cords what so ever. I took a pic of it i'll post it if I can find it, it was pretty bad.

The Sega CDX AC adapter and GC GBA player discs are related. yesterday (the 29th) I went in with the wife since she was looking for a book I suggested we stop and see if they had it there. while she was looking I found the dreamcast, cool grabbed it. looking through the cords I didn't see much and then I flopped a power brick over and it had a sega logo on it. I grabbed it too not thinking. go back over to her to see if she found her book but she hadn't finished looking. so I am reading the back of the adapter while shes looking and notice the cdx thing. next thing you know I am searching high and low all over this goodwill like a crazy person looking for this but I couldn't find it.

we thought maybe the ac adapter made it out before the unit did so we left with what we had. Today (the 30th) I decide to hit up the outlet because maybe they tossed it out to the outlet because it didn't work. nothing, just a few non video game related cables, one for an old digital camera I have so not a wasted trip. head down to the goodwill where I found the ac adapter and check the cases and I notice the GBA player disc, and for $3 hell yea. I want it but I tell them I have more shopping to do, search the store like a crazy person again, found the PSOne multi tap and then go ring up.

so it seems that I now have another AC adapter i'll probably have for a decade before finding the actual unit like I did with the miracle piano

I left the ac adapter in my wifes car, I'll post a pic of it when she gets back if any one actually wants to see what one looks like

Wrong thread, I meant to post in the July thread. Is there a delete option here?
