What's got me particularly excited about this new fanzine is that it appears to be heavily influenced by my absolute all time favorite magazine the legendary Super Play!!
Which for those who don't know was a nineties UK SNES mag that covered tons of import games, RPGs, anime and Japanese culture.

Apart from the very small postage cost, it's pay-what-you-like. The Buy It Now Or Best Offer is the Recommended Retail Price, but if that's too much, then just make us an offer and we WILL accept it.

Obviously the more you pay us, the more time we can spend on future issues and the better we can make HyperPlay RPG fanzine! We think you'll like what you see in issue 0.

Hyper Play issue zero arrived in the mail today, haven't had a chance to sit down and read it yet but had a quick flick through and it looks great.

Hehe I always had a good fight with Super Play and Tony Mot. In the last issue he called me an 'imbelice'. Nice spelling, Tony, I guess I had the last laugh.

Kind of a funny title, isn't RPG playing more like Mellow Play? :P

Great news! Thanks for sharing. Younger kids today probably scratch their heads and put paper zines in the same category as cassette tapes, but it was an essential part of my youth and I'm happy to see it alive and well. Every now and then I do feel an itch to create a zine, paper and staples all, and mail them out. It was a lot of fun and I felt like I belonged to a "scene" that was part of the greater popular culture.

Today, of course, one could publish a blog and be instantly read worldwide...FOR FREE...which is something we zine editors 20+ years ago couldn't possibly dream up. Like mix tapes, you really have to love the craft of making these things. The medium is the message, as the saying goes.

For the record, I am always awaiting a new issue of Digital Press. If the decision is ever made to publish again, I will gladly volunteer my talents for the cause.
