How many CDs is Planescape Torment?

I'm asking because I just browsed ebay and I've seen listings for both a 2-disc version and a 4-disc version and I can't find any info about this. Not all the 2-disc listings look like just cases of someone losing discs either as I see a jewelcase release.

At the moment I'm unsure about actually buying the game (I kinda have to save money) but I would like to be informed when and if the time comes.

Believe my copy I purchased a few years after it's release had 2 CDs.

Both versions are legitimate. The four-disc version came first, and actually has a considerable amount of redundancy (i.e. a lot of the same data can be found on more than one disc). The two-disc version came later. There is no reason to choose one over the other.

Whatever way you go, you'll want to follow the ultimate install guide at http://thunderpeel2001.blogspot.ca/2009/01/planescape-torment-fully-modded.html . Apparently there's even a 1-disc DVD version.

If you want to save money, you should probably just buy it off of GOG. I think there's been some talk of giving the game an Enhanced Edition along the lines of Baldur's Gate I and II and Icewind Dale, but at this rate it may never be released.
