Twinbee (and friends Winbee and Gwinbee) are actually space ships/aircraft of sorts that have some person like qualities with the arms, but they're piloted by people in the cockpit behind the eyes(glass) of the ship. Twinbee has a guy, the other two have a girl and a little kid.

Twinbee (and friends Winbee and Gwinbee) are actually space ships/aircraft of sorts that have some person like qualities with the arms, but they're piloted by people in the cockpit behind the eyes(glass) of the ship. Twinbee has a guy, the other two have a girl and a little kid.

The ships are sentient, though. Think of it like a partnership when Light/Pastel/Herb are piloting. In many of the games, you can see the pilots outside of the ships, with the ships still moving around and talking and such (in fact, the ships have a cute speech habit in which they end their sentences with "bee").
