It occurred to me after one of our members tried unsuccessfully to create an account using a fake email address that you can't actually get "activated" in this manner.

For this one day, I'll allow it. If you create an "alter ego" account for tomorrow's festivity, just email me at digitalpress@email.com and let me know the handle you used. I'll activate you and give you a new password and you'll be good to go!
