View Full Version : Why no GBA Punchout?

Seriously, practically everything for the GBA is a SNES port, so why no punchout? They could use the same engine but make it a new game, and allow the SNES version to be an unlockable extra. If they allowed you to save between fights, it would be the PERFECT on the go game because you'd only need a minute or two to accomplish something, or get your ass handed to you. Come to think of it, why was there no N64 or GCN version? I thought these games were pretty popular.

What they NEED is a Punchout compilation with arcade Punchout, Super Punchout, NES Punchout, and SNES Punchout.
....maybe throw in the spinoff Arm Wrestling in as a bonus.

Seems like Punch-Out isn't as popular as we thought...the games (including Arm Wrestling and Teleroboxer) were developed by Nintendo IRD, and IRD hasn't made a game since Nester's Funky Bowling. Super Punch-Out wasn't even released for the Super Famicom, except as a download for the Nintendo Power cartridge.
So with Nintendo IRD seemingly no more, looks like we'll have to cherish the Punch-Out clone in Wario Ware as the last Punch-Out we'll probably see.

Yes sir that's all it is :) It's PocketNES running on a 128mb XG-Flash.
It's pretty good!
