Hi guys, it's been a while since I've ventured into the forums here. It's nice looking around again... :D
The main reason I stopped by is to ask you guys a couple questions.

"What features would you like to have in a 7th or 8th gen controller that isn't there from the factory... ?"
And even if they are available from modders elsewhere, what features do you think are overpriced ?

Me and my friend are good at this kind of stuff, and we want to make it a little bigger. Centralizing what we do on opinions and suggestions that actually come from people that we personally ask. No matter what it is, it may actually be doable!
Would love you guys' feedback/opinions/suggestions.
People charge WAAAAAYYY too much for most mods, and we want to eventually give them a run for their money!

Thanks for anything you may want to contribute,
Peace, Mike

Start and Select/Back buttons.

I'd like to see a rotary spinner be incorporated. Not only for classic games and remakes, but I could easily see it benefiting indie releases and XBLA style material.

Otherwise, I don't really see how something like the XB1 controller could be greatly improved beyond cloning the d-pad of the SuperNes as a substitute for the stock d-pad.

Start and Select/Back buttons.

Nobody has gotten rid of these, they've just relabeled them.

Maybe so, but they're like secondary or tertiary things now, overly basic option choices. Games may still say press start on the screen, but the primary (A, X, etc) does it too. Having actual start and select buttons that uniquely do as they're suppose to (select to select options/scroll that menu) and start (which just starts the game or the game from a submenu, and of course pauses) has become pretty taboo.

How about one with no joysticks on it at all? A true classic gaming controller rooted in the 80s and earlier 90s would not have that. Sure earlier stuff started with them like the 2600, but the most memorable stuff people still look back to was the NES/SMS and SNES/GEN era.

I'm the opposite of what everyone wants. I want more on my controller. A built in keyboard would be handy so we can play mmo's with a controller and not have to switch between keyboard and joystick.

Looking forward to the steam controller. Hope it delivers.

I'm probably the only one, but I was hoping Sony and Microsoft would have copied a form of the Wii U gamepad as their controller. Not as bulky as the gamepad, but a Sony console with an integrated screen in the controller. I was actually stating that they should just use the Vita as a PS4 controller to give it the same functionality of the gamepad but as uncomfortable as the Vita is to use than the PS4 controller I'm glad that didn't happen, but still would have been nice for a gamepad on the controller.
