Hey Fluke!
Hey Achika!
Hey udisi!
Hey ianoid!
Hey stonecutter!
Hey Six Switch!
Hey intvgene!
Hey cheesystick!
Hey DP!
And anybody else!
Did you guys ever play all the way through Mission 23, at least in Rookie? If not, where did you get stuck? I'd love to see the "DP Marauders" crush the opposition when the online expansion SB: Line of Contact actually releases in the spring.

I bought it at lauch but unfortunately haven't put alot of time into it. I'll be getting LOC but will probably get crushed unless I start practicing a little.

Dude... I'm still working on it. I buy more games before I get the chance to beat the ones I bought before.

I'd play mine more if the tv that the xbox is hooked to wasn't so high up that I can't see the buttons light up without looking down completely. Seriously, its hard to beat ANYTHING that way.

Unfortunately I only made it to mission 7. I never got stuck per se, just the usual play the mission a few times then beat it rigamarole, but now I shall be selling my Steel Batallion either this weekend or next. :(
I have it, but haven't spent too much time with it. It isn't one of those games you just get out and play for a little bit. I do have every intention of getting up to speed. Really !

With NYC last semester I haven't had much time for it. I don't think I got past the first few missions.

Golly, I don't think I've even passed the first mission. I really do want to play it, I just need a sturdy place to put the damn controller!

Greetings to Ikari Warrior, atomicthumbs, ubersaurus, fcw3, and oobgarm, none of whom I realized had SB!
So--aside from videogamerdarryl and me, it looks like nobody has even seen the beginning of the second campaign. But I can understand, since I just recently finished both campaigns (rookie difficulty) after 7 months. And I think the overall mission log is reading 90 hours. :embarrassed:
As far as needing a table to play, I just rest the controller on the arms of an old dining room chair. It helps that I'm skinny, though. :) The controller seems to be sturdy enough to handle it.
But this leads to what you complained about, uber, that you can't see the buttons flashing. I say don't worry about it, since any information you might get from a flashing button (after the start-up sequence) is also conveyed on-screen, whether it's your ammo magazine running dry, a missile launch coming your way, or Argus wanting to have a word with you. Most stuff has an audio cue, as well. You can definitely finish the game without relying on the flashing controller button lights (if I did it, anybody can).
Well, anyway, if anybody gets stuck by a mission (most likely 3, 4, 7, 9, or 10), there are some good walkthroughs and forums at http://steel-battalion-clan.pippin.us/
I'd be happy to pass along my feeble tips, as well, if you post here, too. Here are a couple.
Tip #1: Use the Decider until you get the Prominence, and use the Prom until you get the Quasar (which you can find in Mission 7, and get to pilot once you accrue 120,000 combat points).
Tip #2: In the Decider, the 315-tr (twin rifle) is your friend.

I have it too, but I have not even opened the box and I've had it since the first of the year! I really don't have a place to put the controller that's stable enough to play. I can't wait to play this thing! I suck really bad at games with tons of control functions... so I see  coming my way once I play it. LOL

Do you mean that you haven't beaten Mission 23 at all, or that you haven't beaten Mission 23 in Armageddon?

You can be sure that I'll be yelling about it when the online sequel comes out!
