View Full Version : Anyone have issues with Power Base Converter and 3D Glasses?

Okay, so I got in my 3D glasses today which are actually pretty cool. Popped in Space Harrier 3D which came with them and they work... but the system seems to have trouble with them. I don't seem to get enough power because as soon as I plug the glasses in the system fades and suddenly my display is purely black and white. I unplug the glasses and everything goes back to normal but of course this game doesn't play very well without them. I thought at first it might be the third party power supply I use but I pulled out my one official power supply for a Genesis 1 (in use for another system) and the same thing happened. I thought maybe it was that the system was going through an extension cable but plugged it into the wall and same thing. Any ideas what this could be? Anyone have a similar issue? Is it likely the system or something else?

I did at one point get it to work for about 3 minutes with color and the glasses, albeit the image faded some still and it was pretty darn cool and impressive. Also if it makes a difference it is connected through RF but the image is fine (for RF) without the glasses plugged in.

You say you're using RF, but what kind of TV is it? I only ask, because I just wonder if maybe it's similar to lightguns where you have to be using an SD CRT for it to work. That's just a wild guess, though.

Ok, I got out my 3D glasses and ran them on a Genesis 1 with power base converter through RF. At first, I had issues with the black and white. I cleaned the 3D adaptor and card slot, and it worked fine. I did several levels of Maze Hunter 3D with no issues. I'd say your issue is in the card slot/adaptor, whether it needs a cleaning or worse, but a quick clean did me just fine.
