i dont want to make anybody feel bad, but i really think everybody should have a larger collection than that, even if they dont get around to playing it. but i guess everybody has to start somewhere.

I was going to defend the guy but after looking at the link I can't. I'm hoping he had a change of heart and took most of his collection down.

Wow.... Let's be nice to the traitor (just kidding). That's the beauty of the buy-it-now feature.

When first posting the link, I didn't think about how items were going to disappear as they sold. Thanks for putting up the other link.
Oh, and to those who felt the need to rag on me, I see your true colors and offer you this in response:
1. I am not a "kid." I have been gaming since 1978 at the tender age of 2.
2. Think before you speak, you fuckihg assholes.
3. I've collected, sold, and resold more video games in the last 5 years than many of you will ever see.
4. I'm willing to bet I've also done more with my life since becoming a ward of the state 14 years ago than you thoughtless mouth-breathers ever will.
Please note that the above comments are only directed towards those of you who attempted to make themselves feel better at my expense. If I could send a lump of shit to you, I would.
To everyone else, thanks for your support. All of my system bundles sold before I even woke up this morning, and I posted them all around 10 PM last night.

And another thing...
I've been soured on the whole idea of collecting vs. playing. The reason I sold all of that stuff is because I was sitting around yesterday, looking at the mass of switchboxes, cables, games, and systems that were all hooked up to my TV and I realized that: "Holy shit, why do I have all of this? I can only play one system at a time, right?" So, then I unhooked everything except my PSOne and put the other systems and accessories neatly into their respective stacked Rubbermaids. Then, I sat down to play. Oops, I've played these games so many times that it wasn't fun. I tried different systems. Same thing.
So, why did I have all of these things sitting around? I think maybe because I was trying to buy back my childhood, which you really can't ever do. The only time I feel even close to being a kid again is when I'm teaching (elementary kids) because you get caught up in the energy and the randomness of how they operate. Blowing shit up on Guerrilla War or playing a few rounds of Super Dodgeball is fun, but it doesn't seem to have the same <oomph> anymore.
I still like a lot of older music, but I think it's because music really hasn't gotten much better or evolved. Or maybe I know too much about it and am just picky. On the other hand, I know a lot about video games, too...I guess I was just burnt out. I haven't really played any of the new systems, so maybe I'll just take a long break and try out some new stuff later in the Winter.
If I seemed like a prick in my last post, that's your opinion. But I can't stand people spouting off at the mouth. My time spent on forums, messageboards, and communicatiing with people online is only a separate avenue that I use to deal with people--not as a total substitute for real, human interaction. I look at it like going to the bars. A fun place to visit, but I doubt I'll meet my future wife there. I'm sure there are a lot of decent people here, it's unfortunate that I ran into a few punks.
So, there you go. I'm probably officially going to be labeled as one of those "grumpy old fucks" now.

Since he flamed the board.. Personally I would'nt even call that a collection thats more of a bargain bin at my local WalMart LOL and more games then we'd ever see in the past 5 years.. then were are all of them..

Nah. Personally I'd rather have 100 or so good games that I like to play, than thousands of crappy games that just sit on a shelf.
Baseball cards are for collecting. Video games are for playing.

i'm not sure if that's directed at me.........but all i said was i thought most collectors had more stuff than that. dont see any harm in that, maybe you have your reasons for not having more games. i'm not out to make enemies but it sounds to me like you took things a bit more personal than intended. sorry for offending you.

Okay, just got back from the gym.
If anyone was seriously offended by anything I said, please disregard it. I think I was just having a bad day or lashing out because I just saw all of my NES, SNES, ATARI 2600, PSOne, GENESIS, 32X. N64, and Dreamcast systems, accessories, and games go far, far, away....now I have 7 ungainly, garish, empty Rubbermaid drawers in my living room.
I had the incredible urge to play something as soon as I got home...
Damn medical bills and rent.
So, in short, sorry for the flame. As Cleveland from Family Guy would say: "That's not fair, I'm just speaking out of hurt."
Please accept my apologies. I guess I will have to game vicariously through emulation for awhile until I get back on my feet.

btw, ShadySmurf, nice Avatar...and to answer your question as to where all the games are, well, they're somewhere...just not with me...who knows, you may have a game I previously owned. If it smells like beef jerky and Wild Cherry Pepsi, most likely it's mine, since that's what I've subsisted on for the last 5 years.

I disagree. It seems like a rather large waste of money to buy a ton of games that you never play. I'd rather have a few games that I actually play rather than a huge waste of space.
