Just a thought I had, I've got.....something, I donno what, and when I feel like crap I always feel like playing a particular set of games for some reason.

usually I want to play, and these are specific, MegaMan 4, Super Mario World or All Stars*, Chrono Trigger, Castlevania (any), Unreal Tournament (any)* or Tetris*

any one else have a set like that when they are sick?

* when painkillers are not involved

If I really am bad off and don't want to do much let alone move -- Sim City. Or something similar to that one like the sequel or the original Civilization. Pop them on easy (sick or not) and they're fun to blow hours on and not have too much of a struggle when you don't feel good but want to pass the time and keep your mind off it. You don't play well when you feel like crap, doesn't help doing Mario you can play by memory fairly well and just get pounded early into it because of illness as it makes it worse.

I don't really feel like any kind of console gaming while sick. I prefer to stay in bed, relaxing with a handheld. And if I'm feeling clammy or whatever, I don't want to handle my more expensive handhelds, so I always just pull out my Game Boy Advance SP. What game doesn't matter too much, I just play something I've yet to beat, though it's nice if it's something that isn't too demanding and saves my progress so that I can tackle it little by little.

Seconded. When I was sick lately I just sat in front of my computer and played virtually an entire game of Civ III in one sitting. Another option for me is doing a crafting mission in Final Fantasy XIV, which I find oddly relaxing.

I have a few. Final Fantasy III on SNES is one I like to do if I get really sick. Hasn't happened for several years, but I enjoy doing all the oddball stuff like getting and using all of the imp equipment, maxing out everyone on espers, getting all of Gau's rages on the Veldt, etc.

SimCity on SNES is a big one as well. I get my city rolling and relax, so if I fall asleep, I wake up and have a ton of money to play with.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on PS1 is a good one for me to just fiddle around in.

Culdcept Saga (360) and Fortune Street (Wii) are two that can be fun, though I gravitate more toward Culdcept anymore, as I can try the challenges to get achievements or clothing, and getting new cards is always fun.

So many replies but nobody mentioned Dr. Mario yet.

I like turn based rpgs when I am sick. Preferably ones that don't have an active battle system where you can take your time making decisions and leveling your characters. Ones where you can save at any time are good too, because if you want to take a nap, you can just come right back to it after. For me, I think Final Fantasy X would be one that I'd choose.

Anymore I just like to sleep when I get sick, but, some of my favorite games that I would play when I was sick as a boy were Cadash and Dragon Force. Dragon Force was pretty even paced and mindless once you got the hang of all the menus, stats, and abilities. Cadash was great for leveling up on that first stage and just meandering around for a while.
