I understand it when there are licensing issues, but it baffles me how some companies seem to ignore games and franchises that they seem to care little about.
What got me thinking was the Thor games, Beyond Oasis and Legend of Oasis. Maybe the best action RPGs Sega ever made, and yet aside from Virtual Console and an eventual inclusion in Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Cillection for Beyond, Sega seems to just not really give a shit. These games should be real legacy pieces for Sega, but get less remebrance than games like Altered Beast and Wrestle War.
I know Saturn games were never really simple to emulate, but still... Sega has made a lot more than Sonic, Phantasy Star, Golden Axe, and Shining games, but games like Oasis, Alien Storm, Dragon Force I & II,etc. easily hold their own with the best work Sega ever did, and other than Dragon Force I regularly see around at very reasonable prices.
What are some other games/franchises from companies that are every bit as great as the games they use to define themselves, but they don't seem to care about proudly including them as legacy titles?
