What's something you'd expect to at least be a little valuable but turned out to be completely worthless?

What got me thinking about this was i was cleaning up the game room a bit for a Halloween party session of castlevania and i came across PSX Jampack vol.1. Yea i know it's a demo disk and i wasn't expecting major money but at least 9 or 10 bucks. Sure they're are a few people trying to sell for that price but it never does and sells for around 2 bucks.... If that

I figured, being the first edition of its kind on a new system it might be something and it just got me thinking

Some dreamcast games/ accessories mostly do to the limited supply and high quality of the games themselves.

They seem to have hit a ceiling in a way that more sought after 16 bit titles have preserved on and through

My comic books are probably all worthless now that it's been about 15 years since I stopped collecting. But as far as games go, a lot of my demo disc should be worth more based on how rare they are. And then there are my various Xbox collectibles. Some are extremely hard to find but the market for people willing to spend top dollar on Xbox items is very limited and only consist of myself and a handful of other people.

I remember snapping up the Burger King Xbox games when they were new because the situation was so weird that I thought they might end up being a rarity, but they can still be had for dirt cheap. I've heard that some of the earlier, more obscure Atlus PS2 releases had very low print runs (like Dual Hearts, Tsugunai, Wizardry), but their prices are still pretty reasonable (so much for the myth that Atlus games are always valuable). But I'm kinda stretching the meaning of "worthless" here.

I thought some Nintendo mascot A and B team stuff wouldn't be damn near worthless, but some of them are, even complete let alone sealed in the box. F-Zero has a huge base but look where that game sits for one example. I know it had a million seller run but so did other stuff that still has some decent value. I always figured Gameboy and GB Color games in general would have value because they grew up as 8bit cousins with the NES stuff along side it, but I mean look, like 90% of the stuff isn't worth more than $10 at best in a loose situation.

Some high quality games that were mostly unknown I expected to go up in value, like The Battle of Olympus and The Magic of Scheherazade for NES. What do you know, they are still pretty much unknown.

I second Game Gear stuff.

I'm in agreement here. After all these years, I figured some of those really great misunderstood games would have been appreciated and sought after. If you'dve told me that after all these years games like SCAT and Kickmaster would be better regarded and more expensive than those games, Legacy of the Wizard, Dr Chaos, etc., I'dve been stunned stupid.
