I somehow found this on Facebook. It's like loot crate but for retro games. It looks like they send you 3-5 games a month for your system and genre of choice.

They have a Facebook page and apparently there are some unboxing videos on YouTube. They say they won't throw you Maddens unless you ask for them. It's $30/mo as well. I have a feeling that you won't get your $30 worth as far as EBay pricing goes. I'm very skeptical that it's either a scam or just not worth the money.

I did see people asking on their Facebook page if it's possible to get Earthbound or Little Samson, and they said "it's not the lottery". So I believe you could possibly wind up with Zelda's or Mario's. Thoughts anyone?

For the price it seems like a gamble. They promise you'll get $30/in 3-5 games a month, but it's basically a mail away vegas experience, a total gamble. Not much of a discount if you go all in for the larger packages either. While they surely wouldn't mail you a double of something, you could end up with just copies of junk you already have I would imagine being possible. I think I've seen this attempted by other groups once or twice before over the last few years.

I watched a bunch of unboxing videos. I only saw 1 person say they were disappointed. Every video I saw was garbage games you would find in a bargain bin. I'm pretty sure some of the YouTube videos were also fabricated by the owner. I wouldn't do it.

Would be funny if you could somehow track the company down to an existing ebay mass reseller account where they get a bunch of crap they can't ever sell off, or at least few and far between. So what they do is they create the subscription 'treasure' box and show an image with some first party games on the site so people get hyped. Then when it arrives they get like 5 games, and it's like SMB/Duck Hunt, Taboo, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Athena, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? if they set it up to get NES games. :D

I notice that most of the videos are of people getting really cheap and/or common games, many of them scuffed up.
On the other hand, I really like that box.

I feel like if I paid into it out of curiosity, I'd be getting $7-$20 worth of game value every month for $30/mo. Maybe you could wind up with a box here and there where you could receive something semi decent. Some of the videos I watched showed the general value of each game as well, and it always fell short of $30.

looks like a complete waste of time and money

I can see this being good for somebody living in the middle of nowhere just starting out collecting and without easy access to local shops that sell retro games, but for somebody like me it's totally pointless. I do like that you can submit a list of your collection and they'll only send stuff that you don't already own. But they only support mainstream game consoles, all post-Atari era. If I could select obscure machines I don't have many games for like the Emerson Arcadia 2001, Fairchild Channel F or Bally Astrocade, it'd totally be worth it.
