You know I really miss the big heavy box like plugs that the older systems have, At least I can tell what I am plugging in with those. Genny/cd say sega nes says nintendo, but when it comes to figure out which plug is my cube or 64 or station etc It usually takes me 2 or 3 tries till I plug in the right one. granted you can actually plug 3 newer ones into an extension cord without the pack getting in the way of the 2nd plug on the one side, and your floor does not get burnning hot under them but I like them.
So what was the first system to move all the power stuff inside the console, and just use a plug?

It was a selling point of some sort for the N64 that the bulk of the power supply was right next to the console.

The ColecoVision power supply had an ordinary plug, but there was a whopping big box further down the cord.

Funny enough, I just found a product to aid in using multiple power packs. I posted about it here (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17920)

One thing I can't understand -- why does the PS2 have no power supply at all -- just a nice power cord -- whereas the GC has this BIG huge power supply brick? :hmm:

On a related note, I wonder what Atari was thinking when they decided to combine the RF box AND power supply in one device for their 5200. That sounds like disaster just waiting to happen.

Yeah really I remember Egm for sure, and gamepro if I think on that one, acting all like check this WOW factor out, game companies are just silly with there make up selling points, anyone recall the genesis claiming back in the day that it has some sort of super speed chip in it, and compared to the snes it was super fast LOL.

It was called Blast processing, and it WAS faster than the SNES.

The PS2 power supply is located inside the system itself...the Gamecube is so small, that it wouldn't fit...hence the brick :) That's my belief at least.
