I just found this on sheer accident with a pop up that threw itself up on ebay when I was looking for the 260 in 1 golden game because of the other multicart thread. This looked almost too good to be true, but amazingly it's not and it's real.
On ebay it'll set you back $40, but on aliexpress it's $17 shipped. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Top-quality-72-Pins-8-bit-Game-Cartridge-150-in-1-with-game-Rockman-1-2/32378136051.html?spm=2114.10010108.100007.11.tNHCz Y
NES shell, Famicom->NES converter, *NEW* made Famicom board with quality parts, even battery save for Kirby's Adventure which is on there.
It has Little Samson, Panic Restaurant, TMNT 1-3+Fighters, Adventure Island 1-4, Snow Bros, Wacky Races, Recca, Flintstones 1 and 2, Power Blade 1 and 2, Kick Master, C&D Rescue Rangers 1 and 2, Mitsume ga Tooru(a $50+ famicom gem I own), both GI Joe games, all 3 Double Dragons and Ninja Gaidens, the various Nekketsu Kunio games, Contra1+2 and Force, all 6 Rockman games + Board, Gun Nac, Sword Master, Felix the Cat and some more.
Perfect for a GAMER, especially one who can't or won't afford the $50-1000 NES cart prices going on now with these titles.
I wonder if the US version popping out (according to ebay seller wookiebbq http://www.ebay.com/itm/252275488089?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT -- if they are english releases on his stuff or the same flash to the chip on that board. Given it's a carbon copy of the image on aliexpress, probably so.
It's weird I'm wondering why DUck Tales 1 and 2 got excluded with the Rescue Rangers making the cut.
Would any of you buy this for the novelty value, lack of interest in an everdrive, or just not liking the prices anymore as a gamer more than a collector? I could see dusting off my top loader and putting up the Retron 5 for this.
I saw they've also released the Coolboy 400-in-1 as a 72 pin cart now, although the price for it is insane being that the FC version goes for less than $5. Both of them are fairly decent as long as you don't pay stupid prices for them and realise what you're getting. Some of the games are prototypes, PAL versions that run the wrong speed on NTSC sets, or have altered title screens or other small alterations.
I found it weird they went through the trouble to put a battery on this for a single game that uses SRAM. That seems like a lot of effort and overhead for one piddly title.

Whats so amazing about this? Its just a chinese bootleg with roms on it. Last time I checked roms are free and its not necessary to buy them from China.
Its cheaper than a flash cart but a flash cart can hold/play thousands of games, and many of the games on this multi-cart are junk titles.

I own it. It's been out since summer 2015. Great to have all the rockman games on one cart. Few little oddities: smb2's music is too fast as is Kirby's.
Great novelty for the price. Also came in a radical yellow cart

Lots of games use the RAM without a battery as a RAM expansion since the base RAM in the NES is so low. In ROM hacking, they tend to refer to it as WRAM, even though the only difference between that and SRAM is the battery.
I don't know specifically which games use the RAM w/o battery combination, so I don't know if this cart is smart enough to prevent other games overwriting it (I have a very early SNES flash cart that doesn't allocate SRAM for each game so games on it can and will overwrite each others saves).

Kirby and SMB2 along with Parodius are the PAL versions. They run right, but play the music faster. I get Parodius but not the other two. I think it has a double edged value not worth snarking on *ahem* if you know what you're getting on the inside if you break it down. You get for $20~ a solid clamshell that's new, a new board on the inside (perhaps reprogrammable?), a CR2032 in there, and a handy famicom -> nes board converter too if you don't already have a honeybee(etc) or a Retron5 unit they're desirable. The $40~ they hit on ebay is stupid as hell to pay for if you know to shop and save $10-20 on it.
Oh and kirby on the cart is useless kind of. Any game that accesses the same kind of RAM despite not saving that Kirby does will nuke Kirby's save file so if you bought this game with the intent of finishing Kirby finish it or forget it. :) Stupid design flaw, but given the other expensive games on there and even the nicely translated Rockboard game it's a good thing. Sure it's not a flash kit, but at $20 vs $100+ for a kit, so fucking what right? I've had 2 powerpak's before and no longer because I never used them while my multicart I own I do use as it's a nice wall of hot gems on that Supervision 115in1 I've held onto. I view this as the mostly American supervision of expensive stuff most people find unpalatable to play.
I do wonder if they'll make yet another to correct a few expensive oddities missing I already mentioned.

I have the 198 in 1 coolboy cart. There are a number of games that caused me to purchase the cart, one of them being Mighty Final Fight. Love keeping this in my portable Famicom. I seem to recall paying less than $14 USD from ebay last year sometime. It was before I discovered Aliexpress.

I bought one of these a few months ago, mine has a few issues, smb2 & kirby crash shortly into the games and smb3 & parodious glitch out & the first ninja turtles doesn't even load up but all things considered I'm pretty happy with it parodious is the only game that I don't own separately that doesn't work, may try to sell/trade it to a friend because I'd prefer one of the red or yellow ones mines just a plain gray one with "nintendo entertainment system" upside down on the top label
Anybody know if any of the other aliexpress nes multi-carts have the awesome menu system like this one does?, the small screenshot previews are a really nice touch and way better than just a giant list
Love keeping this in my portable Famicom.

Is the portable FC you own the one in that picture? I was thinking of grabbing that same model and was wondering how the d-pad held up. Also, does that one use AA batteries or a rechargeable battery pack?

Here's a dumb thing, I've read several people using PAL NES consoles saying they had to disable the lockout chip on theirs in order to get this cart to work, and by that I'm assuming the lockout chip they're using in the 72 pin version (or the converter, whatever) is setup for the NTSC sets. Marquee titles like Kirby with it's SRAM battery and SMB2 are PAL versions, yet the thing doesn't work on PAL consoles without modding them first? Is this correct?
If so, how sloppy on a variety of levels, a prime example of working "just good enough" for a lot of counterfeit producers.

That is the FC portable I own. The picture was made with my DSi XL. I do not like the D-pad because it is "four" buttons. But it does okay. I do not understand the mentality of people who build these portables. Why is it so hard to design a "cross" D-pad like the original? It uses four AAA batteries. As a retro gamer I have a lot of the old portable systems so the battery thing does not bother me. But it is more convenient having a rechargeable console. Batteries seem to last a long time. I have never timed it so I really don't know how long they last. Not sure why the makers did not use an old cell phone battery like others that build the retro portables.
I like the the FC console because I can play my small Famicom collection in a portable. This cart gets more play time. The FC portable has this strong plastic smell that sort of reminds me of rain, for some reason. I have had it for a year and the smell is still strong.

a handy famicom -> nes board converter too if you don't already have a honeybee(etc)
I bought one last summer and it was just a 72 pin board, not a 60 + converter. The cases aren't the best, a bit flimsy, but it's a good value and cool item, pretty quality board. It was a hit at the local collector get-together.
I did buy a clamshell + converter on ali for $12 shipped and the shell was better quality and the converter is as well. Great for the FF7 pirate at that time.

I don't own it, but if what they're saying is true with PAL owners that's weird alright. I'd imagine that new board they're using has some CIC bypass chip on it so any stock NES would load the thing. Since it's booting the board, and the boot rom for the board (which is the menu) I think that would be why the PAL games on there fire up just fine other than the speedier music. That would play into things I've see such as the Retron5 not liking multicarts or not doing anything but firing up just the menu. It's a similar thing where the system is smart enough to see the first thing in there, but not the second (the booted game from the menu it booted up. I guess it is just good enough which is sloppy, but I doubt the people snapping these up if these ebay sellers aren't full of crap saying they're taking orders on 2nd shipments due to sellouts is true. People I guess in some numbers are buying a $40 game instead of thousands in expensive titles since they're game players, not collectors, or are both and it's a stop gap until the real thing appears reasonably so.
NESMaster good call on the FF7 if you find one in english (or not if it doesn't matter) with the cheap converter and board. I wonder if what you got is the same one or a previous release as these things I've read said this specific one is like from October of last year I believe, not summer. I know the famicom version is older, but not sure how much.

Well if you don't trust china with a credit card, can't say I blame anyone, for $10 more (shipping is free) a guy on etsy has it for $30 in an orange shell, same sticker. $10 for peace of mind and getting it in days instead of a month or two.
I'd say the biggest draw of this is that it's a 72-pin cart, which opens up a gigantic window of buyers that would otherwise not even know what a Famicom cart was. Considering you can get both the 400-in-1 and the 198-in-1 together for about half the price of this one (if you already own a converter or a way to play FC carts) there's not a whole lot going on to get excited about. Damn shame that Kirby, SMB2, and Parodius don't play their music correctly.
On the same note you'll see a nice price hike on both this 150 and the 400-in-1 when you go from the 60-pin to the 72-pin versions. Looks like a minimum double (or triple) price increase for the NES version depending on the seller.
Part of me was holding out hope this would include the FC version of Contra but alas, no dice.
Edit
After a quick glance again as far as I can tell the music on Parodius seems to play just fine on mine. Granted I'm not a huge Parodius fan but it isn't sped up like SMB2 and Kirby is, at least on my US front loader. I also noticed I couldn't seem to get Double Dragon to move past the start screen no matter what I press.
I did notice that many of the games the 400 and the 198 cart that use weird glitchy or prototype ROMs seem to use clean images on this. SMB3 has a hacked title screen and Gulf War is the same Silkworm title screen hack that's floated around for ages but beyond those two everything seems fairly clean. Neither Contra 1 or 2 use trained versions.
I never bothered taking mine apart until now but it doesn't include a 60 pin adapter, just a straigt up 72 pin board. No date on the PCB but the title screen menu is dated March of 2015.

Along with a pile of NES games, I have a few Famicom bootleg carts as well as the Supervision, one of the few NES Bootlegs (http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=467900#p467900). Original carts are great for game saves and collect-ability; bootlegs add an inexpensive route to find highly sought out games as well as discovering exclusive imports.
Comparing the Supervision to this new cart, there are definitely a large amount of different games on board. As in most bootleg carts Tetris II is usually Tengen Tetris! If AliExpress would only support PayPal with its buyer protection. I have concerns paying with my Credit Card, but went ahead for this killer deal. Thanks Tanooki for the heads up, you should post this on Racketboy as well. :)

Probably only MMC1/MMC3 games (the most commonly pirated mappers). Looking at the list in the other post, the only game with a mapper I recognize as possibly another mapper is Saint Seiya, depending on if it's the Japanese version (some Bandai mapper) or PAL (officially only released in French, though they could as well be using a translation patch version.). The PAL version used a Nintendo mapper. (and if it's a translation, then it's the PAL version)

I own original and bootleg carts, never heard of one frying just because played on an original NES. For the Famicom bootlegs I use Gyromite Adapters (http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=307547#p307547) placing the famicom PCB INSIDE the Gryromite shell to protect the circuits. I even modified a Gyromite cart for one bootleg that has a good selection of games.

CRT you're welcome. I wasn't sure how racketboy would take it, this place is more chill about stuff. But also YOU have that thread totally dedicated to stuff like this so why not just dust it off and give credit if you wish. :)
There is a youtube video of the most current one of these 150in1 carts where someone runs every single game over a 2 part video so you can see every single game selected in the menu and what it is. Silkworm is renamed, SMB3 lacks all but the 3 on the title as far as 'SMB' goes, SMB2 and Kirby sound fast but play right, Parodius I thought wasn't fast but what would I know, I did own it after all and run it on a top loader a few years back. That guy on youtube got every single game into actual game play so at least we know it works (to a point? if not completely.)
Video Part 1 and 2

You and I think alike, great value to try and experiment and an awesome gateway to Japanese games, not so much this release, but the Supervision 115in1 I have is a true gem of Japanese goodies. This one is too, at least more or less by theme with Rockman(board), the full setup of Kunio sports/brawler titles, GunDec, Twinbee, saint Seiya, Ultraman Club, Banana Prince and various other gems, even the only really GOOD pirate of Aladdin (Aladdin 2, copycat of SNES version.) This one is clearly greatly about the expensively ridiculous games but also a solid share of some hot/popular Famicom gems too accessible by non-Japanese readers.
I do have concerns using my credit card with aliexpress, and given their long times for delivery on a boat that could go missing, I think the orange shell same newest release one that's up on etsy for $30 shipped is worth the extra $5 to have paypal, paypal protection, and see it within days, not weeks.
Saint Seiya, never played it, but the little I can see in the video is that the title is in japanese, the next menu has english across the top but Japanese on the rest, then in play when side scroll punching enemies Seiya is in Japanese but the rest is in english. It's either the Japanese version or a partial translation hack.

I would buy that for $17, but I'd be more interested in something like that for the SNES. Flash carts are too expensive when I can just play NES and SNES games on an emulator on my modded Wii or PC for free. I guess I'm not enough of a purist to need to play on the original console(especially when emulators have save states).
Also that guy is selling roms on eBay. I'm surprised his listing didn't get taken down immediately. I guess it's because he doesn't have the word "rom" in the listing.
Tanooki
02-09-2016, 03:51 PM
Etsy cares probably less than ebay because I've seen a LOT of that on there for all sorts of systems.
I'm a purist enough I want to not use an emulator for the most part, but I have made the compromise of the Retron5 due do the HDMI and hot saving going to the menu since I have a 4 year old girl around and limited TV time due to that, but my modded top loader NES and DK set SNES are still here put up and safe. I am oddly though NOT using that R5 for the Genesis I got a few months back. I'm part of an increasing amount of people over the old game shenanigans, so anything like this is a boon as much as an everdrive would be to someone else. I'd rather have some money into a multicart which limits my selection than something I can throw anything I can download to it and feel no value in bothering to use it. May sound odd but it seems to be how I go -- I get no value from copier devices to run retail roms ,but multicarts I have to pay for I do if the selection is solid enough and enough of something I lack access to. It's why I have my supervision 115in1 as it's a famicom treasure trove and if I get this thing in the future $1000s in mostly US overpriced carts and some Japanese gems too which makes it very tempting. I could care less about Kirby or SMB2 running fast audio, cheap games, own both for real.

Yes, it's unlikely. Not unless they're literally selling an Everdrive with preloaded ROMs. They're not going to bother emulating the VRC6 chip for a cheap pirate cart (as I mentioned, all the games are using the two most commonly pirated Nintendo mappers, which is probably why Castlevania III is not supported either since the NES version uses the MMC5 which would also require, as much or more, effort for the pirates to support).

True enough, still seems odd they'd leave out some clearly obvious choices given the current selection. I really doubt they ran out of room. We get Darkwing Duck, both Rescue Rangers and neither Duck Tales? And since they're blowing out the $100-1000 cart selection why no BB2, Bomberman 2, Bonk, and a few others? Either they're lazy or waiting awhile to make a 200in1 once the sales fall off on this.

True enough but if I were to buy that I'd wonder why those games as so much of it is from the $50+ up club. And one could argue it was for the Famicom market as some of those games have gone up because of pissed off Americans wanting an out, but to not have Bonk ($20 cart) makes sense, but Bubble Bobble 2 that one for some dumb reason is over $100 there too so it would only make sense to include it. It's all speculation but it's a weird selection either way.

I like the mixture of games that are included on my 198 n 1 cart. The inclusion of Summer Carnival 92 makes it sweet. I like Gun Nac, even though I do have the original, Contra, Adventure Island, Ninja Turtles, Bubble Bobble 2, Galaga, Life Force, New Zealand Story, all of these plus a bunch of others make this a well rounded game cart for me. Even has some Mario hacks, among others, one of them being the Jackie Chan game with Mario. The cart has a good mixture of earlier and later games in my opinion. The consoles that I play this on is the Generation Nex and my portable Famicom.
I have been contemplating picking up the 400 n 1 cart.

Ahh that's cool. If it's the one I linked in yellow I might just take that off your hands if he doesn't want it. I'd love to play Little Samson again, never got around to Power Blade 2, Panic Restaurant, or the eventually translated Rockboard either. And after seeing NZ17's post kind of feeling masochistic enough to tolerate TMNT TF on NES too as badly as it controls. :)
I'm guessing it's this one?

Cool well my other multicart is nude so stickers aren't a deal for me. If it's that same board I'd take it if he won't. I'd rather paypal you $20 than deal with aliexpress or some one I don't know on etsy.

Aliexpress pays like an escrow service, the seller doesn't receive payment until you confirm your item has arrived. Your credit card information doesn't go to individual sellers any more than it does Amazon or Paypal.

My impression is Aliexpress a legit sell site, a huge international Ebay of sorts with its own buyer seller protection. I like the idea I can cancel the order anytime if merchandise has not been shipped. That stated, the game still not been processed! I just left a message to the seller thru the Aliexpress site and will cancel in a week if no shipment.

hi, because of China holiday(about 20 days), we didn't work before.
We worked from 2015-02-15, so too many things here and too many orders need to arrange.
Sorry for a delaying!, We will arrange them as soon as possible.
Aha, a response finally. Okay, I'll hang tight and see if the cart gets sent before the processing time expires.

Now guess what, i ordered not this one, but the 2 Coolboy Real Game multicarts, the 198 in 1 and the 400 in 1, got them on saturday, I gotta say, the 198 in 1 is A LOT BETTER.
Wouldn't go into much detail, but 198 in 1 for starters, has the full version of TMNT Tournament Fighters with the Cut-scenes and even the copyright credits, whereas the 400 in 1 sadly only has the "abridged version" also found on previous multicarts, including the ones on a clone controller, also BOTH are based on the NTSC, whereas for so stupid reason, the nifty 150 in 1 RED NES CART, has it in PAL!?
Both share games, but versions of those vary, 400 in 1 has Jackie Chan Action Kung Fu, which is the PAL edition but runs just the same as the NTSC one on an american system (guess it was one of those "un-optimized" PAL releases, which is fine by me, since i own PAL versions of Quantum Fighter and Kickle Cubicle and they run fine.), while 198 in 1 has the pirated version with Mario's head.
198 in 1 has more Uncommon/Inflated/Rare titles than the 400 in 1 version.
Ill go more deep into it later.
By the way, mines were bought on Ebay, $15 for the 2 carts! Free Shipping from China to Mexico!

Oh crap! The game cartridge (same link as in the OP) changed from red to the yellow and is a no save version! I really want that red cart for the Kirby Save and since it stands out from another yellow multi game cart I already own.

In checking my order it shows the red cart with description link that the current game cart is now yellow! I sent a message to confirm.
Thank you for the update. When ready, please send the red game cart. It has the Kirby Game Save feature.
ThanksThe cart shipped the very next day after I had requested the older red cart, fortunately also got a reassuring response.
OKGlad I had ordered when I first saw this Thread and sent that message out, hopefully will receive the older (now no longer produced?) red cart.

So you found info that a yellow one with the same sticker doesn't save? That seems odd. It's not a huge loss though since the save was easily wrecked by using many of the other games on there due to how it addressed memory.
Maybe your guy stopped doing it, but multiple others on there still have the old sticker/red cart and for around $16 too shipped currently on the low/lower end now that I searched it.
There's a good possibility even if you did get the one with no save it's not a totally redesigned board but rather the same PCB only without the battery in the holder. Those batteries increase the overhead cost signisignificantly and with these selling hand over fist that would be a tidy sum saved.
Tanooki
02-25-2016, 12:04 AM
True and one could replace the battery or battery+holder easily enough with basic soldering skills if the need really was there over Kirby.
After the rousing success of this showing that foreigners will rush with cash in hand to buy 72 pin carts, the race is on to newly manufacture even the most mundane of carts. Can I interest you in a bootleg copy of Balloon Fight or Super Mario Bros. 1 for a mere $20 USD shipped each?
Tanooki
03-01-2016, 09:36 AM
Hah. I imagine if Balloon fight and SMB ever hit $50 probably you would find people snapping them up for $20 for pretty copies.
It's already happening now as it is with the higher end stuff. aliexpress the following and they all use new boards like this multicart for real cheap prices -- Aerofighters, Little Samson, Flintstones 2, Hagane, etc. The list goes on. As long as people want to play the predatory overpriced cash in game with these old cartridges there will be asians with manufacturing plants happy to make a bootleg for $10-20 that looks and runs the same until you crack it open and find a bootleg. And other than diehard collectors you'll find enough people happy to have a cheap copy to get the same effect without having to use computerized emulators(pc, mac, android) or a flash cart with a memory card.

The U.S. NES RED game cart came in! I took it apart (3 phillips screws) and am surprised how well made the Small PCB is inside. No Glop Chips, but has five solid state chips inside. One appears the same size and pins as the NES10 Lockout Chip on every NES game cart. Another small chip shows a date 2015.11.18 pointing to a recent limited edition build; newer yellow carts no longer save. The main large chip has a sticker with Asian letters, probably covering a window of a flash rom for all the games.
The CR2032 battery inside is mounted in a holder (picture of Famicom version), so much better then soldered on 1st party NES carts!

The cart starts up with a Logo that can quicky be bypassed by pressing any Button or Dpad. The Menu has a zoomed in screenshot of every game as it is scrolled thru by pressing down or up. Pressing right or left jumps pages for a quick search of the 150 individual games. The games are organized with many of the same category grouped together. See the list I posted earlier there is a huge selection of memorable must have games. All the Rockmans, Marios (including the Arcade version), Donkey Kongs (except math) and many other Arcade classics including Dig Dug, Galaga, Toki and so many others. Take a close look at that game list at the top, there are a few that would be very pricey if bought as 1st party. Oh and Tetris 2 on the list is Tengen Tetris!

Wow that's slick. I really need to either trust aliexpress or just pay $10-20 more shipped and get one locally. Up side, it's a us seller meaning better protected, paypal (not out of pocket) and I'd have it in like a few days. I really would love to play some of those $100-1000 carts I never got a fair shot at and never will until and if the stupidity implodes but even then I doubt the honest rares (late Taito for instance) would ever come down much at all.
I take it this has no chance in hell of running on the Retron 5 right? I should try writing that tech again if he's around anymore and see if they'd get it going since it's sourced from their neck of the world.

The AliExpress site works just like Ebay on the International level. Has its own Buyer Protection in case of dispute and Feedback at the end of the transaction. It even has a "Confirm Received Order" click button to close out the extended buyer protection. No PayPal so I used a regular charge card which has its own protection as well. Definitely do not use an ATM card. Even though International with concerns of credit fraud, AliExpress will protect their reputation to maintain customers.
I doubt the multi cart will run in the Retron; it looks for the boot file of original carts. The boot file of multi carts are the game menu. I have a portable FC Mobile and could have bought the Famicom version, but like the direct plug into option on a regular NES Toaster console. Killer list of 150 games handy to play on the go, the large red cart does draw attention though. LOL

If yours is like mine, the Kirby save will get overwritten when you play MMC3 games that use work RAM. So battery is useless if you plan on playing other games. I don't have a list handy but I know for a fact that both SMB2 and SMB3 use work RAM as do a lot of other MMC3 games. Boot Kirby, beat first stage. Power off. Power on. Boot Kirby. Save file intact. Reset. Boot Mario 3. Play first stage. Reset. Boot Kirby. Save file gone...
Oh, and do yours have Mario or Sonic on the boot screen? Initial reviews showed a lineart Sonic character on the boot screen but mine have the lineart of Paper Mario. Date stamp: 3-18-2015.
As others others have stated, some ROMs may be PAL or JAPAN rather than US. Kirby, SMB2, and Parodius are PAL with up-tempo music but play flawlessly. Also this multicart were intended for clones. TMNT1 is in Japanese and major sprite corruption on real hardware; display fine on NOAC clone systems.
Also sucks some of you guys got piss yellow carts with alternate artwork. The originals look way cooler. Also Tanooki mentioned a converter inside. There is none. The NES PCB have 72-pins so if you were expecting a cheap converter inside, you will be disappointed.

I you want the US version, there is also a Megaman 6-in-1 with the US game releases. It is a bit more expensive though (~$30 shipped) compared to the 150-in-1 and there are minor sound glitches on the conversions of MM1 and MM2.

Mine came in a box plastered with phony Nintendo Seal of Quality, and ironically shipped out of Germany instead of the far East. I suck at these games LOL...
Also here's my full writeup on the 150-in-1:
My thoughts on the new 150-in-1 NES multicart...
http://g02.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB19HHLKpXXXXb3XFXXq6xXFXXXr/Top-quality-150-in-1-Game-Cartridge-with-game-Rockman-1-2-3-4-5-6.jpg

It's part of a series of new multicarts available direct from Aliexpress. I ordered a pair of NES carts with shiny new labels and bright red cases (one for me and one for a friend) and paid about $17 and some change a piece for them, or around $35 total with free international shipping. You can also them on reseller 'Bay where they typically go for around $50.
There are also 198-in-1, 340-in-1, and 400-in-1 multicarts available as well, presumably made by the same company, but it seems the higher the number, the less good games and the more crap filler. All of them except the 150-in-1 contain a fairly large number of poor quality unliscensed Chinese titles. The 150-in-1 skips these.
The game cart is largely filled with MMC3 titles along with a sprinkling of the best NROM games and some others likely converted or hacked over to MMC3. The games are largely arranged by series and genre starting with Rockman, so you don't have to hunt and peck around for games from your favorite series as the arrangement seems fairly logical and not haphazard. Tetris II is the same Tegnen version with the title screen removed that has appeared on countless other multicarts. You can't have an NES collection without some form of Tetris, and Tengen is my favorite version. Most of the "late great" unicorns are present as well, such as Little Samson, Flinstones 2, and others, with the notable absense of either Bubble Bobble and Bonk's Adventure. I would consider Bubble Bobble 1 & 2 as well as Bonk's Adventure to be required material, but I am nitpicking here.
Regardless, I'm honestly impressed with the amount and variety of games contained therein. Most of the must haves are there plus a fairly nice variety of obscure titles many gamers may not be aware of. Also each series of games featured is largely complete for the most part, with the notable absense of Castlevania III due to it's complex MMC5 mapper. There is even a Rockman board game available that was originally released only in Japan, translated to English for us to enjoy. I will definitely try it out sometime.
One thing that initially impressed me with this multicart is the inclusion of a save battery for one game, namely Kirby's Adventure, IMO one of the largest and most impressive platformers to grace the NES. Unfortunately that SRAM is also shared with other games, meaning that playing any other MMC3 game on the list which utilizes work RAM will essentially overwrite and erase Kirby's save data. This fact breaks my heart a bit, that all the effort the developer went through to include a save battery for Kirby's Adventure is wasted...
Selection of individual game versions leaves somewhat to be desired, as it seems haphazard as to which region of titles are included. A few games also have hacked title screen and some cheats or ROM tampering added. Super Mario Brothers 2 is clearly the PAL version. So is Parodius and Kirby's Adventure it seems, and quite possibly others as well. PAL games generally play fine but can be sensed by the increased tempo and sharp pitch of the game music. Parodius can be forgiven since the Famicom version used a custom Konami mapper and was never released stateside; however the others seem to be odd choice for inclusion with available NTSC ROMs with standard mapper.
Super Mario Bros 3 has much of the title screen removed and is actually a hack of the Japanese version with item select code and infinite time for starman. To select an item, press B to pull up the item menu and then hit SELECT to change the first item to whatever you want it to be. One caveat to this is that Nintendo put some anti-cheat measures into Super Mario Bros 3. If you defeat Bowser with the starman, the game will get stuck and not allow you to enter the Princess Chamber to view the ending credits. Similar side effects occur when using a Game Genie to cheat on the US version.
Turtles I has an odd glitch present as well. It is based on the Japanese port "Geki Kame Ninja Den" (Ledgend of the Radical Ninja Turtles) and has a Level Select code built into the title screen. Unfortunately the hackers broke the "Turtles I" ROM somewhat so that it runs flawlessly on NOAC clone hardware (tested on my Super Retro Trio) but has graphical glitches on a real NES or Famicom.
I hope you guys liked my little mini write up. The new 150-in-1 is brand new and has a build date of 2015 on the splash screen along with some line art ripped from Paper Mario. The menu has music and displays preview graphics from each of the 150 games. I give it a B- grade overall, which is extremely high marks for a pirate multicart. It would be considered perfect if only Kirby's Adventure save was not corrupted by other games using the save data as work RAM, and PAL region or hacked title versions of game ROMs were not chosen for inclusion.
UPDATE: Added two screenshots of the title screen and menu.

With a multicart like this, what are the odds that something fancier like Crisis Force would end up on one eventually?

If it uses MMC3, MMC1, or older discrete logic mappers, and is either a popular title or expensive on the secondhand market, then there is a good chance the pirates will port it to MMC3 for inclusion on one of these multicarts. If it uses sophisticated, exotic mappers, like several of the unlicensed or Japanese third party mappers, or a Nintendo MMC mapper other than 1 or 3, then it's chances of appearing on a multicart are slim to none.
It's why we have Castlevania I and II on almost all the multicarts, but neither the US or Japanese version of Castlevania III, because it would be impossible to translate from a sophisticated mapper like MMC5 or VRC6 to a simpler one like MMC3.
The multicarts use MMC3 because many great games used this mapper, and most older discrete logic mappers can be translated with little work. So an MMC3 pirate multicart can handle a large chunk of the Famicom/NES library, but there will forever be highly regarded titles, especially Famicom exclusive, that will never show up on one of these.
Good news is you can emulate about 98% of vintage games (as well as hacks, translations, and publicly released homebrews that don't use fancy modern flash mapper) on an Everdrive or Powerpak.

I bought one from someone locally for $30 a few weeks ago. I tried to buy from Aliexpress but it said my bank refused the transaction. I'm guessing they have had issues with that website. My cart is the standard NES grey color, but it's the exact same as the red cart. I have no idea where they got it.
It's pretty cool, but some of the games have graphical glitches.

Are you using a clone or real NES with the glitch games? TMNT plays glitched on real hardware, flawless on clone, and I suspect others might as well. Try it! I am 99% certain these multicarts were only tested on cloned hardware during development.
Also did you get Mario or sonic on your title screen? Just curious. Initial reviews had the sonic artwork and a slightly holographic sparkle to the label. My label lacks the sparkle of initial video reviews, and the Mario rather than Sonic title art, but otherwise the same.
As for CC info, I feel somewhat safe using it with Aliexpress, although I generally prefer to use Paypal for international transactions when possible. There is an option to save your CC info so you don't have to enter it every time you checkout. I would highly recommend not saving your CC info. This may protect you in the event of a high profile hack of the website.
As far as rejecting the charge, I imagine enough people bought counterfeit items and issued chargebacks causing some banks to take notice. Aliexpress is fairly reliable regarding sellers shipping the goods, but you must realize almost nothing brand name sold on there is legit. If you buy knowing full well the item may be fake or counterfeit, you won't get burned. I would stay away from expensive gadgets though.

I use a real NES, the front loader model. Super Mario 3 has some minor graphical glitches, and the big "3" at the title screen is missing. I think TMNT Tournament Fighters also had some stuff going on, but I can't remember what. I know I saw glitches in Mario 3 and 1 other game at least. Overall it works well. I played through Little Nemo and Castlevania 1&2 the first week I got it with no issues at all. I would definitely recommend this to someone who just wants a bunch of great games to play on their NES, but doesn't want to spend a lot to do it.

I think banks that dont do buisness with AliExpress dont because they know Ali sells counterfeit items, not because of chargebacks.
Yeah, and nothing on ali is name brand stuff. Its all either imitation or counterfeits. In terms of 'trusting or not trusting aliexpress', well Ali wont rip you off. Your item may get seized by customs but Aliexpress wont just take your money and run.
Im really surprised at how many people are impressed with these carts. Am i really the only one not impressed by 150 roms on a bootleg cart? Might seem tempting at first but in the long run a flash cart is just the way to go. Especially if there are graphics glitches.. like why bother or mess around with that shit at all?

Would any of you buy this for the novelty value, lack of interest in an everdrive, or just not liking the prices anymore as a gamer more than a collector? I could see dusting off my top loader and putting up the Retron 5 for this.
In your experience, what's the success rate on the Retron 5 for these kinds of cartridges?

Regarding the NES side, only period releases with standardized mappers will work, and occasionally common repros (like NTSC Earthbound or Mr Gimmick). Homebrews, multicarts, or any games using exotic mappers are almost guaranteed not to dump properly. Same applies to Retro Freak with an pin adapter. I've had better luck with repros and homebrews for the 16-bit systems due to the fact most 16-bit cartridges do not rely on sophisticated mappers.

It's kind of a novelty for collectors, and a cheap all-in-one starter collection for casuals or newbie collectors.
Yes, I own the NES PowerPak, FC Everdrive, and numerous flashcarts for other systems, but they do tend to be a bit spendy, require a PC to load required OS files and ROMs on the SD card, may not work well with clones, and are not for everyone.

0 for 0. Multicarts probably 10%, legit bootlegs using a non-hacked pure cart that would pass a CRC check 90-100%.
It's an emulator that uses carts, sorta like retrode I think was into the PC, but this is an android box. Every single game in existence from the 80s/90s/00s(gba) that had a legit release licensed or not will work on the system give or take a really rare oddball which they tried to clean up when people complained. Everything has a CRC database. The game data is dumped to the console in memory, it checks the CRC database, then fires up the appropriate emulator + memory mapper(for NES) so the game works.
That's how that thing goes. I've run famiclone bootlegs in it just fine with hacked titles or straight up legit roms on bootleg parts with no problem, same with bootleg Gameboy (all versions) and Starfox 2 I think will run on that bootleg cart a friend made me a few years ago. I was buddies with the retron5 coder in the day, got him to add a few pirate multicarts like the Supervision 115in1 I own so that does work too.
It's more a safe bet if it's a flash kit, forget it, if it's a multi-cart bootleg it won't work as at best it will dump the menu list but not the games behind it. One off bootlegs whatever the system should most likely work but not guaranteed.
The 150in1 or any variant up to 400+ on these new boards will not work is my understanding. I ever get one of them, I'll shelve the R5 and dust off my top loader. I'm considering selling it anyway as I don't use it and it has only a couple dozen hours on it at best as it is when I got my issue sorted out awhile back.

Tanooki, have you tried the Retro Freak? It's like a Japanese version of the Retron5 but takes USB controllers (and originals if you get the controller dongle) and has additional support for PC Engine / Turbografx. Build quality is IMO far superior to the R5 even if styling is a bit bland. You can also dump game carts to the SD card, although dumped ROMs are encrypted and won't work outside the Retro Freak. English menus are available so you don't need to worry about the language barrier. Only caveat is it's lack of an NES slot so you'll need to use a pin adapter with NES games. :pimp:
Game support should be similar to that of the Retron5, aside from the inclusion of PC Engine.

I could understand the novelty aspect but I just dont think its good advice to reccomend buying one of these to a noob. I just think if you are really interested in getting into playing original nintendo you are not going to be satasfied with just 150 games. And a decent chunk of them are not fantastic titles. I just look at it like its only 20$ yes but thats 20$ that could have been put toward a powerpak.
And besides, why stop at 150 games? Why not include all of the games that they could possibly cram onto a cart?
It just pisses me off when I see people asking 60$ for these locally on craigslist.

You could make your own craigslist ad selling it for less. You don't actually have to be selling one, the ad's presence alone might be enough to convince other people who are selling to lower their prices. That's one way to combat absurd prices on CL, and there are no repercussions for doing so.
