I have a PSP I play when we have downtime at work. All I play on it are either classic compilations or emulators, and mostly fighters at that. The cheese grater d-pad is garbage and after putting up with it for years I've given up on being able to "seriously" play fighters on it.

I've been tossing around the idea of buying a bluetooth controller to connect to either my Android phone or tablet for some quick Neo Geo action but I've never used one and know nothing about the different models' quality. Does one with a good d-pad exist? It doesn't have to be Saturn-level quality and won't be taken to EVO or anything, just something responsive and comfortable enough to be worth the price.

I switch between the Logitech Gamepad F310 and Sega Saturn controller with usb adaptor depending on the game and emulator. An X-Arcade for MAME action.

The Logitech has a nice disc d-pad and shaped like a ps2 controller. The Sega Saturn model 2 is the best controller ever made. Period.

I appreciate the recommendations but I'm specifically looking for a wireless bluetooth controller. I own a few other Logitech pads and the one you mentioned looks nice but requires a proprietary dongle to work.

You're going to experience lag on a bluetooth. I have 2 MOGAs and will probably never use them again due to that. That Logitech gamepad requires no proprietary dongle to connect to a droid. It's what I use. Just a usb-to-micro usb adaptor if your tablet requires.

Depending on what operating system and emus you have, you can connect a wiimote or 360 controller. A PS3 if you want to root your device. For example: MD.emu allows you to sync a wiimote with 4.1 Operating System or less. I use it all the time on my phone and works like a champ.

I've tried all kinds of controllers and configurations. Weird how I own a wiimote, ps3, and 360 controller and not the systems.
