Tiny "Game Room" in Grand Hotel - Sunpeaks Resort.

Better Late Than Never !

Last August 12 - 14- We went to Sunpeaks resort for the 7th Annual Sun Peaks Retro Concert Weekend. Upon checking in to the Grand Hotel did my usual walking around and discovered this quiet and empty little arcade so I just had to do this quick video. I had forgotten all about it as I tend to do once we return from a trip and the excitement wears off. But I was just going through my playlist of various arcades I had filmed when it popped into my head "Hey wait a second, did I ever upload the little Game Room I discovered that weekend at Sunpeaks?" WELL NO I NEVER DID so here it is.

YES technically not my first video of 2019 as I say in the video BUT my first "REAL" video as far as I am concerned 😜Just a look at my NES loose cart collection, some memories rambling all off the cuff. PLEASE enjoy and comment on any titles YOU particularly enjoyed or despised or have a interesting history of. Also as always feel free to correct any info, these are fading memories for me and I only go by what I recall off the top of my head. Either way I hope you enjoy looking and remembering some classic Nintendo 8-bit fun along with me.

New quick video ! Looking through some loose NES cartridges I noticed this name written on with permanent marker, so being late at night I thought I would upload this quick little video asking "Did YOU ever write your name on your cartridges?" - As collectors we often come across them, often research how to remove them but it did make me think about how or why people did this, sometimes it was kids who did not know better and would mark everything they owned in some fashion, maybe because we did not think of decreasing value or ever parting with our precious games? I sometimes wonder about the people who owned them previously, why they sold or traded them etc.

Can't say I ever did, but I also never lent out any of my games, so I didn't have to worry about any confusion on who owned what.

Per this sub-forum's rules, I've merged all your videos into one topic and renamed the topic. In the future, please add new videos here rather than creating a new topic for each. Thanks for sharing with us!

Recently I had the luck of winning a very special prize from YouTuber Blaine Locklair !
Check out Blaine's Channel for the best in Restoration, Repairs and Mods HERE:

!!!! WARNING !!!! Expect my usual babbling and going off in tangents during my video, I do eventually get around to the "unveiling" but if you want
to get right to that skip to around the 6 min 40 sec mark. I was so excited, happy and grateful when Blaine messaged to inform me of winning this
prize which is not only an amazing addition to my gaming collection but actually something that I have never played let alone owned.

Blast from the past! WOW! 8-) One thing leads to another and I came across THIS fun old video where I responded to some video game related questions. I am always amused particularly because I just don't remember videos I did like this 10 years ago, mostly because I just answer off the top of my head, fun to see my answers and what I was into at the time, who I was responding to and connected with etc. Just sharing some fun little stories but interesting if anyone wants to answer the same questions today.

What is the strangest place you have played a video game?
What is the longest you've attempted to repair a computer/console non-stop?
Have you ever had nightmares about games?
Have you ever played a game that was too scary to play?

Story Time: Unboxing a replacement for my favorite 80's game console.

ITEM unboxed purchased from RETRO MTL in Montreal Canada. Great prices, slection and service by gamers for gamers! I could not be happier with my purchase and highly recommend ! https://retromtl.com/
This is from a few weeks ago now, I did not upload right away as I been going through some personal things and honestly, was not sure I was going to upload this in the end OR edit it leaving out certain "details" regarding some bad events but I have decided the hell with it. Sharing all the details on why the console needed to be replaced, it's not a good reason. I had only shared this previously with a few real close friends in messages as I tend to keep certain things personal as well as I don't like to dwell on bad things in my channel but well, sometimes it helps sharing and getting things off my chest and some of you have been with me for years so in the end I have decided to just upload this video and all the details including the story that goes with it. It's a long one and it was literally unscripted as always, I didn't even know I was going to share the details once the video started or if I'd simply let it be about the unboxing but it just sort of came out and I guess thinking about it there was a reason for it. Thanks for watching as always. Take care. Sincerely Rob aka MaximumRD.

My UGLY? but cool and special Super Nintendo

Just sorting through the old collection looking for my Super Nintendo and I was reminded that it always amused me how my Super Nintendo console stood out, fortunately not just for the poor attempt at painting the shell but it has a couple mods to it that can be useful.

Luckily on Atariage at the right time (4 am my time) caught this thread with Ben from Plaion showing new Atari 2600+/7800/Paddles with beautiful Blue buttons instead of classic red. Next thing I knew seeing my reply he offered me one along with several people replying in the thread, he continued giving away these Blue Button Atari controllers until his supply ran out.
Ben joined Atariage as a member taking feedback and suggestions shortly after Atari aquired Atariage forums. Represenitng the company PLAION that manufactures the Atari 2600+ and accessories for Atari.

Unexpected BIN HAUL, FINALLY scored! PLAYSTATION JOY?

Happy and excited, imagine my shock, guessing a SONY fan got a nice Christmas or Boxing Day UPGRADE if what I found in the BIN today is any indication :D No complaints here, gave me a reason to upload a video ASAP as I was not expecting to do any for the rest of this year but figured this would be a great excuse.

Not sure of the age, but I'm guessing from the 90's. No built in speaker, so I had to hook it up to a external speaker.

Blast from the past, found in a binder! Anyone else ever do this?

During some cleaning and organizing, I found a binder of long forgotten retro game related
texts, guides, walkthru's printed from various websites. Anyone ever print out such things?
Let's take a look at some of these material's perfectly preserved support texts for various
retro games.

The real nook about this video are the websites, contacts, and games you was looking at.

Lets be fair. You requested your spouse to use employee resources meant for the J o b...........
Resources that she did not pay for.........hmm

I am writing this because of the major I was apart of at the time. When I see a fellow student print a guide for "Resident Evil 4" ( a game I finished without using any guides, ) using the "All-purpose-paper" ( Printing paper meant for illustration ). This guy literally cheats with everything he is doing, and is flaunted by the horny-lonely-professor, exposing his arms.

Let me be honest. The last twenty years do not matter to me.

As you mentioned I would go insane sometimes, and then out of desperateness I would go online and just download the FAQs,

I miss the artwork from the guide-books. I miss when we had this thing called print and was done with respect.
