View Full Version : What the Steam box should have been
The Steam box streams, in a sense, from your PC to your Television. This is nice and all, but I don't have a PC. Or a computer, for that matter. But there are lots of games on Steam that I want to play. The Steam box should be a stand alone console. You should be able to plug it in to your TV, then make a Steam account with a good UI, and buy and play games. Of course you can have your pre-existing Steam account and transfer all your games and such. The controller should also just be a standard 360 style controller.

Steam boxes ARE consolized pc's, aren't they? You can use any kind of PC controller that you want.
Are you sure you're not talking about the Nvidia shield?

Yeah, you can. I just highly dislike the controller. I'm not talking about the Shield,

I dunno man, I think you'd be better off just building a mid range PC for that money. There's a lot more out there than steam can provide. Why limit yourself?
