I have a new TV for gaming and it doesn't really have composite or s-video for older consoles. I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for converters to component or hdmi. I have a both a component and a hdmi switch hooked up to my tv, so I could use a converter for either type of cable.

Plug the composite yellow cable into the component green input, its a shared input jack.

Thanks for the response. I'll have to try that. I have my component stuff hooked up to a pelican system selector. The eighth input on the front would be very convenient. Though I am curious if any of you had tried some of those converters.

It's going to vary by TV, on some the yellow into green thing won't work right, you'll just get garbled or B&W signal. On the ones it does work with, typically it only works if the red and green video inputs are empty, so having your selector plugged in will cause it to not work properly, at least that's how it works on a few TV's I have. Others may behave differently.

Most will have a composite connection with many sharing the green input. The trick is to go into the TV input menu and select the Composite input if there is an option.

I've actually run into this problem at work. Often times it's just not a strong enough signal and the TV thinks it's only part of the component signal that's why it's garbled or black and while
