Rampage question

Okay, my wife and I play Rampage 2 on the n64 sometimes... between rounds, where they show the bar graphs for who did what, I usually have all three graphs higher than hers, yet she is listed as the winner 100% of the time. What is the goal here? What am I doing wrong?

As the resident Rampage World Tour/Universal Tour fan, I'll field this one. :)

Each round, the game picks ONE category for the two contestants to compete in. Whichever category is highlighted in any given round is the one that will determine the winner.

E.g.: Round - Dallas. Highlighted category: fisticuffs.

If you kick your wife's butt at the building demolition AND the people eating, but she barely edges you out in the player vs. player fisticuffs, SHE wins this round.

I'd guess false memories or programming bug in the N64 version (I'm more experienced with the arcade and PSX versions). :) Try it again tonight and watch for the highlighted category in each round. If it still happens, sounds like a bug.
