N64 40 Winks

Did anyone else back Nintendo 64 40 Winks on Kickstarter? I've never played the PlayStation version, though I do still own a copy. The game seems meh, but the idea of owning a new game for the N64 was irresistible.

I grabbed one of the early bird boxed editions. Now they've met a stretch goal and are offering a 40 Winks controller for $40. I'm hesitating on the controller because it uses the original controller design, which I've always considered awkward to use. If I knew for sure what the controller packaging looked like, I might have purchase it for a shelf piece. Otherwise, I'm much more interested in getting the Retro Fighters Next Gen N64 Controller coming in February / March 2018. I've gotten a couple of their Next Gen NES controllers and was pleasantly impressed.

I didn't want to at first but I succumbed to the $55 pledge for the CIB game. The only reason I know about the game is because Nintendo Power actually reviewed it back in the day despite never being released. I can honestly say I've never bought an N64 game that wasn't pre-owned before.

If they port it to the Dreamcast in the future, then I might buy it. As it is, I think I might buy the PSX release instead as it is the cheapest.

Sometimes people do things for which I feel grateful but not interested enough to actually commit money or time to. This is one of those things. I'm happy the world is still capable of manufacturing N64 cartridges.

If I wanted this game I'd rather own it on the PS1, instead of in a more expensive form with a worse controller.

I want it for the simple fact that I've never bought a new N64 game. I was 12 when the last N64 game came out (Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3)
