I guess there is a form to fill out and all you'd need is your PS3 serial number or your PSN ID. You would have had to have bought it between Nov 2006 to sometime in 2010 (it says in the article). I have that information and I'm wondering if I should go through with it or not. Do you think it's worth it or would there be any kind of scam or caveat that I'm not seeing?

I got that email too. I was going to ask the same thing- is this a scam?

I haven't thought about the loss of Linux on the PS3 for a long time. I still think it sucked that they pulled the feature they toated about since the system's launch even though I never would have used it.
