I got to thinking what are some other racing games in the style of rad racer?
I was looking to play some others and hunt them down if need be.
I have so far:
Rad Racer (of course)
Rad Racer II (NES)
Victory Run (TG16)
Outrun (GEN)
3d Hot Rally (FDS)
F-1 Race (GB)
what are some others that I should be playing?

Taito Grand Prix (Famicom), which has an English translation patch - http://www.romhacking.net/translations/2453/
Formula One: Built To Win (NES), is essentially an enhanced sequel but wasn't released in Japan.

I REALLY enjoy Outrun 2019 on the Genesis.
It has some nice graphical trickery going on with decent scaling and elevated roads and tunnels. Decent graphics and some great tunes.
In my opinion it doesn't get the respect it deserves. In all fairness it doesen't really add much new to the Outrun formula, but I still find it to be a fun, solid title worth playing.

There's always Fatal Run on the Atari 7800, which also benefits from having machine guns to deal with other cars.

I REALLY enjoy Outrun 2019 on the Genesis.
That's a good one. I wish I hadn't passed it over back in the day, it really fits in the Genesis library nicely.
Safari Race on SG-1000 is historically interesting, and a decent challenge (if not annoying) if you give it a go.
Road Blasters of Genesis is pretty darn good, but of course not exactly a strict racer.

oh wow and its not too expensive, i'll see if the guy I bought outrun and TMNT tournament fighters brings it to the flea market tomorrow.
as for 7800 and SG1000 games I don't have those systems yet. one of the few less common I don't yet. some day they'll show it at a yard sale or thrift
i'll keep those in mind though
