Sega saturn model 1 worth more than 2?

Was just checking ebay for saturn prices and it seems that model 1s are a bit pricier than 2s? Thought 2 was more sought after. Maybe lesser model 1s? Or am I just stupid?

Model 2 saturns are easier to mod.. at least last time I paid attention.
I guessing there might be less of them around... but they arent much rarer then the model 2 saturns.

The model 1 US version was released in far smaller quantities than the 2 and is sought by collectors because it's larger and had different controllers. Having said that, for loose versions the price difference isn't huge. I haven't seen a new in box 1 in five or six years, although there seem to be plenty of new in box 2's available, albeit at increasingly ridiculous prices.

personally i like the look of the model 1 over the 2, maybe others agree?
the changes are subtle but still...
