I have a gun for both the CD-i and the 3D0, and neither of them work. I'm using a CRT tv which the zapper works on. I guess my main question is, is there one a specific thing like a transistor or something that goes bad on these that is easy to troubleshoot? The CD-i one has a box that sits on the tv kinda like the Super Scope, but it's hard wired to the gun. Any ideas are appreciated.

It's not an HD-CRT or flat screen is it? Because I think that can make a difference, though it's been years since I've even thought about this stuff.

It could be the brightness or sharpness of the TV, some lightguns are more finicky with the settings than others.

I'm using a Sony Triniton 37" I think.

American Laser Games made the guns for those systems, and they are garbage. They usually no longer work and need to be fixed.

It's probably the optical sensors that needs to be replaced, they can go bad over time. You can check to see if the infrared LEDs of the transmitter box for the CD-i gun are working by looking at it through a video camera that shows IR as purple light. Couldn't tell you the part numbers for the sensors in question.
