So I felt like doing a "silly" topic. Think about ancient gaming rivalries, and then decide who wins.
1. Street Fighter II vs Mortal Kombat?
correct answer: King of Fighters (Samurai Shodown is also acceptable)
2. SNES or Genesis?
correct answer: Turbografx (or Neo-Geo if you really love Terry Bogard).
3. Sonic vs Mario?
Aero the Acro-Bat.
4. Resident Evil or Silent Hill?
Fatal Frame until you realize literally all of them are about a ritual that went wrong.
.... aaaaand I'm out of ideas. Anyone else got ancient rivalries they want settled? Or perhaps you have alternative answers to the ones I posted?

MK, SNES, Sonic (as a character not as a series), Resident Evil.

1. This one's a dead tie. Do I want to see blood or not?
2. Genesis, by a hair for its larger game library. Although SNES had a slightly higher percentage of good games.
3. In the 16-bit era, Sonic. Overall, Mario. Sonic couldn't do 3D for crap and Mario made the transition masterfully. Super Mario 64 and Sega's lack of an answer to it was a huge downfall for Sega. But I do like Sonic 2 and 3 better than Super Mario World.
4. Never played either. My parents had Resident Evil on PS1 and they hid it from me as a kid (then again, I WAS a little kid)

I guess I'm the only person who likes "pick a third option" type answers?
Batman or Superman?
Pepsiman
Playstation or N64?
Real talk, for awhile I actually hated both and went back to the 16-bit systems. My joke answer would be "Saturn" but IRL I wound up liking the Playstation.
Mega Man X or Zero?
Real talk again, one phenomenon I always notice is that while other characters are "cool," in Mega Man games, Mega himself is always the most fun and balanced character.
Zero, in the games where he's playable and fully-featured (so, X4) he always feels a little.... well, I felt like his playstyle made it so sometimes the game was insane hard with him. Same goes for Bass in Rockman & Forte (yes, I use the game's Japanese title, but I call the character Bass).
But we all know the best Mega Man character is Roll.
Boys vs Girls?
I think 99% of people on this planet prefer girls. Just saying.

SFII or MK?
I like both, but I guess if I HAD to pick one, Mortal Kombat. Don't forget the ABACABB.
SNES or Genesis?
I'm going with the Genny for its bigger game library, although the SNES had a slightly higher percentage of good games.
Sonic or Mario?
In the 16 bit era, Sonic. I always found Sonic 2 and 3 to be much more fun than Super Mario World. Of course, once 3D got big, Mario blew Sonic out of the water.
RE or Silent Hill?
I guess Resident Evil.
Batman or Superman?
Definitely Superman.
Playstation or N64?
The first video game system I ever played was an N64, but I grew up on the PlayStation and PS2. So I'm going to have to pick the PlayStation. Bigger game library too, you could get anything you wanted on PlayStation.
Mega Man X or Zero?
Never played them growing up.
Boys vs. Girls
Girls, obviously. Especially Kappa Deltas.

Is it sad that I thought you meant the Star Trek character before remembering the monkey?
On that note:
Star Trek or Star Wars?
Doctor Who.
Was gonna add another TV-related one but its known to grind nerd discussions to a halt, so I'm iffy.

I meant the monkey, but Data from Star Trek works too. :p
As for Star Trek or Star Wars?
Star Ocean (of course)
