Something like 16 games hit the shelves today.. Though I don't think I'll be getting Deerhunter 2k4 or Pro Cast Fishing..
I've had Soul Cal. II for PS2 JAP for a while and think it does the game justice.. I hear the Xbox and cube versions are better (the ps2 graphics are getting pretty dated.)
anyone get Tron 2.0? I don't think it came out today but it looks cool.

Best Buy had a bunch of Tron 2.0 right by the door when you walked in. I read the box, but it didn't have a price on it. They had about 20 of them I think.....I did buy Two Towers and Animal House on DVD

I thought about buying Two Towers but I can't do it when I know a 4 disc collectors set is already in the works.

Only Washington State and Texas got SC2 today, but I'll be there at the opening hour for my copy on the GCN!

I was at Wal-Mart this morning...didn't really notice anything new in the way of games but I did see some new discount-priced DVDs. Almost picked up 9 to 5 but didn't. Later on, I did receive the PS2 game "Maximo" in the mail...

That's why it's on my "wait and see" list.
I did, however, pick up F-Zero GX, and I can happily report that it's not different than the Japanese version I imported for $100 three weeks ago. :D
And it's damn tough.

Most reviews have said all versions are virtually identical save for extra characters....

Circuit City is giving away a $10 gift card and a t-shirt with the purchase of Soul Calibur 2. Anybody know about a better deal?
I wasn't going to buy it, but I'm a sucker for a free t-shirt, and I'm going to buy Street Hoops with the gift card.
Oh, and I'm getting the GameCube version just for Link, if anybody's taking a tally...

I do plan to get the new F-Zero game, but I'll probaly wait a few months and pick up a used copy cheap.
There IS one game that I have pre-ordered that is due out today (Wed) -- Republic: The Revolution for the PC. Susposed to be a wonderfull sim/RPG/action game where you are the person in control of a political party at the end of the Cold War that just overthrew the Communists in a Eastern European country. Been getting rave previews. The game has been delayed a few times, but I'm hopefull EB will finally call me with news of the game coming in. :)

Around here S.C. 2 hits shelves tommorow. I reserved the game a little while though. One problem, havn't gone to work since before cge. :/ . Good thing is my b-days thursday so my parents are going to pick it up and give it to me as a b-day present. I never played Tron until CGE this year. Looking foward to playing Tron 2.0, I enjoyed the first one. Anyone playe dit yet?

The PS2 version of SC2 is easiest the least of the 3, but that's not saying much. Sure some of the resolution and textures are off compared to GC/Xbox and the loading times REALLY suck (GC loads each fight in about a second!), but it's still a damn fine version.
F-Zero GX is just the shitnaz though LOL
Buy both people... I've been enjoying them for ages, so you should too :)

In Kansas, the GS I go to got the PS2 version last night and the rest arrive today. I'll be there to pick up my 3 copies tonight. Yes... I'm that stupid! @_@ Most of the other major stores don't get it until tomorrow.

After playing all 3 versions of SC2, I love the GC the best. The X-box has the buttons all mixed up (granted, they can be set differently, but still), the PS is fugly, and the Gamcube has Link. That, and I have a strange attachment to the GC standard controller and this game....though I have NO idea why.

Been getting rave previews
What game *doesn't* get rave previews these days though?
The only thing I bought yesterday was Two Towers. I barely watch 'extra' DVDs anyway, so waiting for two months for 2 discs I won't watch doesn't make much sense. Besides, the extra 45 min attached to the movie itself makes it even *tougher* to find time to sit down and watch 'em - back to back of course :D
I'll probably pick up Bombastic when I see it. SC2 I'm gonna wait on for awhile and get a used, Gamecube copy at some point.

The only reason the PS2 version of SC2 doesn't look as good is because of the other systems ability to display in a higher resolution.
Link is a panzy.

I'm waiting to see if I get a job at GameStop before I do anything. If I do then I'll grab SC and F-Zero for Cube and save 20 bucks. If I don't then I'll probably just wait a while for price drops.

Playing through SC2 (GCN) now for a bit, and Link doesn't seem to be as overpowered as everyone was making him out to be. Yes, he has projectiles, but I've been having a lot of fun with Ivy's sick whip distance with her sword. I'm surprised how much range she has.

Right on about Bombastic. I hope this one catches more folks' attention. Devil Dice is one of the best PSX games, no doubt.
I also want E Jay Clubworld, another music making title, which sells for $9.99. Gave it a try, not badat all-though MAGIX Music Maker might be a bit better.
And Drexel, that's a great idea. You have no idea how nice that discount really is. :D

I'm on the lookout for Bombastic (what a crappy name!) right now. I still play the hell out of Devil Dice (no pun intended).
I'm also waiting for the LOTR: TT 4-disc edition in November. My little Blockbuster store sold 78 copies of it on the first day, and about a dozen customers said they'd be back to get the 4-disc version. I did get the Simpsons season 3 set.
