I assume you mean imbNES (http://imbnes.gamebase.ca/index.htm).
I have a PS1 and not a PS2 but it should work fine. Have you tried using different brands of media? This solved my problem.

does your ps2 or ps1 have to be modded to do this? or can you get a boot disc. i would like to just use a boot disc unless i decide i can't live without it........then in that case i would buy a mod chip...........so does anybody know how all this works and where and if i might be able to get a boot cd. Thanks!

You don't need mod chips for the PS1 or 2. I've seen and have been using for years on my PS1... 7501 model a device that looks like a knock off Game Shark. But it came with a spring, it actually has a mod chip built-in and all I have to do is wait for an offical Playstation 1 disc to stop spinning and simply swap discs. I've been playing imbNES ever since I first heard about it,and there are severial mod-chip sites that have similiar models that plug in to the ports on the front of the PS2
As for ROM haters I discovered something sometime ago that might change your minds. It's called Somari 2, whoever designed this game is A GENIUS.
Let me tell you why, the person who created this game, which is simply not a hack took Mario and placed him in the Sonic 2 world. This game is difficult but everytime I play this on a NES emulator (Yes, this is a NES 8-bit game)
The more amazing I find it to be, it is better than 90% of all NES games period. That is not a boast, you can find the rom in the NES page at
