Old Pinball machine

When my dad was a kid he had a pinball machine, that was long lost. I was in my cousin Anthonys basement today and found it!!! It has no glass and is extremly dirty. Have no clue how working it is. My cousin wanted to fix it up but doesn't have the time. So me and my dad are picking it up the weekend. We are going to try to get it working, and if we cant im going to just take the back marquee (if thats what it's called) and keep it. Im so happy. The machine is called Daffy (i tihnk) and has a cartoon girl's image.

pins are really cool to have, its amazing how much fun you can have with a game thats 80% gravity and luck. of course pinball fans will tell you its ALL skill and they do rack up the big scores to prove it. my dad is from the happy days generation and has a gameroom with 8 pinball machines and to his credit 4 or 5 videogames. pinball machines from the 70s or earlier are pretty easy to keep running, very little complex electronics and its mostly mechanical parts you can intutively understand. it has has a lot to do with keeping the parts lubed (go ahead snicker), either way you should be able to find everything you need online, good luck!

Not to mention to make sure your rubbers don't break from the stress of ball play. ;)

Older pinballs are great. There really is skill involved: english on the machine (on most machines: jiggle the table a bit when the ball is in the cylindrical bumpers to keep the ball in there-you usually can rack up some good points), judging good angle shots, good flipper control, etc. When they started going to more video game like flash (Jurassic Park and the SW:Ep 1. pinballs come to mind) I lost interest. Give me a game like Fire!, Space Shuttle, Fireball (with the rotating wheel), or Rollergames any day.

Good job on unearthing the machine! The oldies aren't too hard to fix up.
