After 20 years the site has finally shut down. The site was sold to C Net circa 2006 and the layout changed dramatically. The owner, Scott Bedard produced a really great site that had a simple but detailed layout, lots of user interactivity and a great message board. The site was helpful and one of the first to create an aggregate score for all games. I still used it all the way up till the end.

The people running the site have since moved over to Metacritic a site that treats any system older than 7th gen as one system "legacy" and its very hard to navigate, sort by genre, etc. Ive never liked the site and will probably just use Wikipedia or Gamespot now

They come and go. At least Archive Team (https://www.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Disestablishments_in_2019) seems to have come to the rescue.

I'm not sure if I ever visited the site. I generally don't really like aggregate sites like Metacritic because they disregard reviews without scores, and they all the more encourage people to just look at scores and skip actually reading the reviews. On top of that, there are many people who treat Metacritic as gospel, as if a game with a lower average score must be terrible, even though with niche games, if you actually click and read the reviews behind the low scores bringing the average down, the reviewers often have a bias against or complete lack of understanding of the genre.
