Actually looks like a really good game. I don't do Steam though. A physical release on switch will earn my money though.

That does look really good. I also don't use steam, maybe it'll be available somewhere else eventually. I'm happy to see games like these still being made.

I checked out the trailer on Steam - I'm a big fan and just about any game I get these days is on that platform. That being said, it's not clear to me what this brings to the table that's unique and different...why play this vs. a tried-and-true classic?

The best "retro-like" games have classic graphics and style, but have unique gameplay. Retro Game Challenge is the gold standard - it looks like an old-school Nintendo game but the gameplay is pretty unique, and it takes away a lot of the meaningless grind. I'm on the fence about Shadow Gangs; not sure I see the value vs. going back to play a Double Dragon or Ninja Gaiden game.

looks awesome but unless its released on a console, either Dreamcast, PS1 or something, Im not gonna go out of my way to download Steam and create an account, set up controller and all that crap just for a digital copy

You sure like to complain when a game isn't on you're platform of choice.It's about time you get over it all ready damn it all.
