Wow it's been some time since I've seen the red on black of Digital Press, lots of good memories here!

I'm looking for an article that I had found somewhere on the internet in the early to mid 2000's about I believe a Florida video game collector that could play anything he wanted, when he wanted. The picture I remember in my head on the article was a long haired guy layed back comfortably in his favorite chair, playing something on a CRT with a wide angle shot of his collection in the background. I've tried some keywords in Google and turned up empty. Biggest reason I want to find the article is I purchased Sonic The Hedgehog 2 from him about 20 years ago and that got me back into classic gaming at the time which of course lead to me finding the Room of Doom galleries here on Digital Press.

Any help is appeciated!

Billy Mitchell lives in Florida and has long hair. Maybe it was him? He can play any game he wants at any time thanks to MAME.

Don't say Billy Mitchell plays on MAME or he'll sue you!

Even back in the 2000s the Internet was a pretty big place...and to be frank, many of the sites - especially around niche hobbies such as ours - don't last 20+ years. Odds are that the story you're looking for was either on a site that's been retired or re-done and even if you had it bookmarked on your browser from whenever you read it that link would be gone.

But...you could take that link and go to the Internet Archive and find it. That's probably your best bet - but you'd have to have the URL. A person's name, the name of the site where you read it - anything would narrow it down here.

Todd Rogers?

I had the same thought. But he wasn't much of a "collector" of games, snakes and spiders, yes.
