This year's batch of hockey games are coming out soon... much earlier than what I remembered last year. I guess the competition is heating up to get your game out before everyone else's. I seem to remember the old games coinciding with the start of the season, not before the pre-season!
Anyway, the big three are NHL 2004, ESPN Hockey (aka Sega's NHL 2k4), and Hitz Pro. Microsoft's NHL Rivals is a new release this year, and the dark horse.

I am most looking forward to ESPN and Hitz Pro. ESPN was the best game last year, and should only be better. Hitz has always been fun, but this year, Pro will be adding a realistic game too, much like the real NHL. NHL 2004 has an improved fighting and hitting system, and probably the best league feature. NHL Rivals is Microsoft's first shot at hockey, and has an interesting pick-up game where you will play a role on the team.
Anyone else? What are they looking forward to? The fall has to be the best time to be a sports gaming fan. There are so many releases, football, hockey and basketball, so whatever you like, you gotta find something to play.
