What's your backup situation? I have 0 Colecovisions, Atari 5200s, or Xboxs, but I do have:
7 (at least) 2600, I'm counting my 2600 Jr., but not my 7800
2 Vectrex (Vectri?)
3 NES, one's a toploader
4 Genesis, counting a CDX
2 Saturn
2 Dreamcast, one I won at a DP Game Nite
And of course a PSX to back up the PS2.
I'm sure most of you have got me beat. I'm curious to see who has the most of the same system...I bet someone's packing more than 10 2600s or Gennys...

I don't think of them as backups per se, but I have.
2 US & 2 JPN Saturn
2 US & 6 JPN Dream Cast (5 are L.E.)
8 NES (some are to sell)
5 N64 (some are to sell)
2 Genesis
3 SNES
US & JPN XBox
US & JPN Game Cube
2 Core Grafix
US & JPN PS2
2 NGPC
Several GB types
Several Wonderswan (B&W and Color)
I think that's it. I guess the systems that can't use a boot disc shouldn't count, but I put them anyway.

5 NES (3 top-load, 2 toasters)
2 SNES (one mini, one regular)
3 N64 (gold, fire, and smoke colored)
2 PS2 (one Japanese, one US)
That be it.

4 Playstations (1 modded original-style, 1 modded PSone with LCD screen, 1 unmodded PSone, 1 unmodded Japanese PSone)
2 Odyssey 2s - because you can never have enough Odyssey 2s.
2 Atari 5200s - with working joysticks even. I'm hogging all the good ones.
2 Intellivisions - though one of them is being donated to OKGE for a door prize (see below!).
4+ Apple IIs/Franklin ACEs - long story.
2 Game Boy Colors.
2 Colecovisions (one has no cords or controllers though - strictly a backup, got it in a trade).

I have...
2 2600's (one six-switch, one Coleco Gemini)
3 Odyssey2s (like PDF said...)
2 7800s (I'm debating parting with one, but would hate to give up the spare power supply!)
2 NESs (one toploader and my original front-loader from 1987)
2 ColecoVisions (one CV and one Telegames Personal Arcade that doesn't work right)
I also have an original B&W GameBoy and a GBA.

My abundance of O2s goes back to my 1996 tornado experience, which wiped out the original O2 console my uncle had given me many years earlier. I had to hunt for a new one at the time, and the trading scene just wasn't as organized as it is now from where I was sitting - I was O2-less for months. So I vowed never to let that happen again.
Now, finding a backup Voice...that's a whole other problem.

I have:
2 Playstations (one original and one PSone)
2 Sega CD's (first and second generation)
3 Sega Genesis' (first and second generation and a Nomad)
Not impressive or anything, but I would like other variations like a top-loader NES, a Genesis 3, a Goldstar 3DO etc. (which my girlfriend does NOT understand, but loves me anyway).

3 Intellivisions (2609, 2609A, II)

Hell's Bells! I'm gonna show this thread to my wife just she stops thinking I'm alone in this multi-console thing. As for me:
-Approx. ten 2600's: two or three six-switches, four four-switches, three Jr's (two short-rainbows and one long one, if you want to be really specific). Two are Coleco Geminis.
-Two Intellivision model I's.
-Three Odyssey2's: One with detach. joysticks, two without (Like PDF and I others here I suppose one can't have enough O2's, but I don't know enough about them yet so it just sort of worked out this way :-D ).
-Three toaster NES's, all of which are destined for various hardware experiments.
-Two SNES's model I's.
-Four Genesis's: Two I's, a II and a III.
-Two Game Gears: One to play. One with a bad display, thus also destined for hardware experiments.
...then we get into the hazy grey area of redundant "compatible" devices (GB and GBC, PS2 and PS1, SMS and Power Base Conveter, Coleco Expansion #1 etc.) But these aren't really in the same classification, IMHO, as multiple systems of the same type.
Pretty much any extra system I have that's in good working order is available for trade, the sole exclusion probably being my Al Alcorn-autographed 2600 Jr. That be mines forever :D

I'm confused by this story, maybe you can clear it up. This story makes it sound like:
A- You received a NES for your 1st birthday - which would make it, in fact, a funny story
B- You are 9 years old.
C- You received your NES on your 1st birthday 8 years ago. So in 1995, your dad gave you a 10 year old videogame console when you were a year old. No wonder your mom was pissed!
