I know this thread is really frickin' stupid, but here it goes anyway...

I've gotten a lot of great suggestions for games (ones that I wouldn't even have thought to research) from these fine pages. I'm looking to buy 1 or 2 xbox games today or tomorrow and I could use some of YOUR suggestions (mostly OBSCURE loads of fun)!

Here's what I already own...

Blinx - The Time Sweeper
Blood Wake
Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball
Enter the Matrix
Gun Metal
Gunvalkyrie
Halo
JSRF - Jet Set Radio Future
Mechassault
Metal Gear Solid 2 - Substance
Outlaw Golf - 9 Holes of X-Mas
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Quantum Redshift
Rallisport Challenge
Seablade
Sega GT 2002
Star Wars - Obi-Wan
Star Wars - Starfighter S.E.
Star Wars - Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Star Wars - Knights of the Old Republic
Steel Batallion

If this is a silly request (or you hate my taste), I guess we will all enjoy some good picking, and if not, I hope to hear your great suggestions!

Alrighty, thou asked, thou shalt receive:

You had MechAssault listed, so definitely look into Phantom Crash. Not only is Phantom Crash infinitely better than MechAssault, it offers tons of customization options, great licensed Japanese music and it's really the best robot-based game I've ever played.

I also recommend Deathrow. It's a fun sports game (albeit one with lots of violence and f-bombs). If you like fast paced arcade style games or like old-school games like Nintendo World Cup, check it out. It's like Ultimate Frisbee had an affair with Basketball and Hockey's fighting somehow got added to the mix. Very fun and unique game.

I rented and did enjoy Phantom Crash. I completely forgot about that one. I'll definately consider it.

Thank you sir, may I have another?

Hmm, I don't have that many Xbox games that I've played extensively just yet (just recently got an Xbox again after a few months of not having one).

Robotech: Battlecry is multiplatform but is a pretty fun game, even moreso if you like Robotech. It's an action game where you pilot a veritech, which is basically a robot that can shift from a plane to a robot, to a plane/robot hybrid. Pretty good game, perhaps a bit heavy on the "babysitting" missions, but a nice game nonetheless.

I've played a bit of Kung Fu Chaos, and it's not too bad, but I'd definitely rent first (although give it a few tries, I automatically assumed it was ass on the first try and later found that it was quite fun, especially on multiplayer).

Hunter the Reckoning is pretty fun. Think Smash TV, only not as difficult (but with enemies that are very tough). It's a bit repetitive doing the whole "kill the zombie-find the key-open the gate-kill the boss" thing, but it has some multiplayer options (which, oddly makes the game even harder than single player due to limited ammunition on the better weapons).

I'm really absolutely drained of suggestions right now, I've got to play some more games before I can recommend any :D.

I would recomend adding these to your list. Most of these are $19 to $29 now anyway.

Toe Jam and Earl 3
Hunter: The Reckoning
Kung Fu Chaos (This game is not only a lot of fun, it's hysterical)
Buffy The Vampire Slayer (I'm not a Buffy fan, but this game is fantastic)
House of the Dead 3
Shenmue 2
Enclave
Outlaw Volleyball
Syberia

Definitely Buffy 1.
BloodRayne maybe, it has an interesting feel.
Exhibition Demo Disc 2.Ignoring the demos and videos, it's "demo" version of Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO is basically full Japanese version, all characters and such, but has no option to save or go online with. Not bad for$5-8.

If you like puzzle games, try Eggmania, which I think is better than Tetris. You have to build your tower with block pieces so your egg doesn't drown. Best of all, the Xbox version supports custom soundtrack.

The first Burnout is fast, stylish, and cheap now that the new one is out. I got a copy at EB for $10 new.

Cel Damage is good, if you have a few friends to play with, but the single-player mode is MEH.

Of course, I would suggest Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller. Infinite replay value, and if you get bored with the main game, you can try the Crazy Box. If only the game had retained the original map from the DC version of the first game...

ATTENTION: BLATANT SELF-PROMOTION PLUG AHEAD!

Also, as I've repeatedly said on this forum, I have multiple sealed copies of Xbox Soccer Slam for sale or trade (preferably trade), and that game is beautiful, controls well, and is fun and I'm not even a soccer fan. I lucked out at a Target clearance. PM me anyone who is interested...[/b]

I'm really looking forward to VooDoo Vince in a few weeks.

Give indiana jones and the emperor's tomb a look. What I played of it, I enjoyed.

Thanks for the reminder Achika, I remember I was pumped for that game after reading Play magazine's big article about it a few months back, and I didn't even have an Xbox at the time :D.

I'd like to get all Xbox puzzle games, so far I know of those games:

Egg Mania
Mojo
Puyo Pop Fever
Super Bubble Pop
Tetris Worlds
Ultra Bust-A-Move
Worms 3D
Worms Forts: Under Siege

Did I miss any?

I second the suggestion for Crazy Taxi 3. Also check out Outrun 2. It's a good over-the-top arcade racer, plus it's got online and LAN support, and the original arcade Outrun hidden on the disc.

Second Sight. It's like Metal Gear Solid if Snake had psi-powers. Plus it's only $10 at EB Games until Monday.

Arx Fatalis. A decent and often-overlooked RPG in the same style as Morrowind, only with a tighter storyline and less meandering.

Roadkill: a drive around, shoot em up, raise hell masterpiece available for $5-10 at most stores. Definitely worth the money!
Red Faction 2: a shoot em up with interesting weapons and great graphics. Also a cheapy that can be had for around $10.
Morrowind: if you like RPGs, you should enjoy this one. It is long! Get the companion book, it helps. If you dont have the book, you may do like I did my first go around and kill some of the wrong people. Is also fun if you have a deep character to spend an hour or two going town to town and wiping everyone out!!!

Both games are scheduled for release March, wonder if Worms 3D is the same as earlier releasedon PS2/GC or enhanced version.

Morrowind's hardly obscure, otherwise I would've mentioned it instead of Arx Fatalis. It's like Arx Fatalis was released, and then immediately dropped off the face of the earth. When my wife bought it for me for my birthday, the clerks at EB didn't even know what it was until she had them look it up.

Morrowind's by far the better game...I actually enjoyed all the meandering. :)

Add another recommendation for Buffy 1 and Indiana Jones. Two very good games. I would add Buffy 2 since I am a Buffy nut. :) Also Voodoo Vince, very beautiful game and much fun at that.

I'd second Mojo. It is really cheap (was $1.00 at the TRU sale) and is really quite fun.

I would also second OutRun2, although I don't know if it is really an "obscure" title. For $19.99, it is an insanely addictive racing game.

Crazy Taxi 3 is just excellent too. It contains both CT1 and 2 on it, as well as 3. And until just recently, it could be found for under $10.00. A steal at that price.

Headhunter: Redemption is pretty fun. I adored the original and waited eagerly for this one and it let me down a bit because it simply isn't as good as the original... but that isn't saying that it is bad. It dropped to $19.99 new now. The game is sort of like Metal Gear Solid.

I also noticed a few racing games and a few boat games on your list. Therefore, I would suggest Carve and / or Splashdown. Carve is cheaper (I found mine for $8.00 new) but I don't think it is quite as good. Splashdown is EXCELLENT and is everything I wanted WaveRace: Blue Storm to be (only without the buoys, which Carve does though).

Lastly, if you like beat-em-up games I would take a look at Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu. It is an excellent game beat-em-up and can be found for under $20.00 new. I think one of my friends said it best when he said that you took all of the cool stuff that they put in the first games and removed all of the stupid parts, you then end up with this game. It's really fun.

Breakdown is a wild ride for the price. It's an Xbox exclusive. And I'll believe that Worms 3D and Worms Forts Under Siege are coming out when I see them. They've been scheduled and rescheduled forever ...
