Just wondering if anybody knew if it was still on?

As far as I can tell from both their website www.cinciclassic.com
and their Yahoo group, they still haven't found a place to hold it, and once they do, it's slated for November now :/ I'm hoping they get it all together...

I've never been to a show like that as I'm fairly new. I'm game. :D

Well, the CinciClassic website is gone, finito, bye-bye. This does not bode well.
If that has disappearred, and with the cancellation of this year's - and future - CCAG meets, it looks like the time is now to form a new Ohio classic gaming meeting. And I'm interested in heading it up.
I'll need some help, but I forsee something in the Spring in 2004 in Mansfield, OH (my hometown and mid-way between Cleveland and Columbus). Been wanting to hold a semi-formal gathering of DP members and looks like now's as good a time as any. Will keep the group posted as this gets fleshed out.

Count on 100% support from DP East, Mr. Snider! Maybe I'll finally get out to one of them this time.

I'd be coming in from GR Michigan, but count me in as well. :D

Mansfield. Isn't that I-71, exit 169? I.e., where I get a burger when travelling from Cleveland to Dayton?
Some people may say that it's a bad idea to have a classic gaming meeting in Mansfield. Too much beer, videogames, and hot ch1x in a relatively untamed, uncouth portion of the state. To those people, I say BRING 'EM ON!!1!.

Too bad about Cinciclassic, but let's not forget about the CCAG show. It was cancelled this year but I think they are trying to get something together for the spring too. Check it out @ http://www.ccagshow.com (I'm even pictured on page 4 from '02.)

Found out about the Cinci site yesterday :(
That stinks, especially since my best friend is slowly getting into collecting, and really enjoyed Cinciclassic last year (I think, no, I KNOW it was because of Snider-man). And was actually looking forward to this year's show. Discouraging to say the least...the CCAG show sounds promising...
Maybe I should have an event at my house ;)

Dude, somebody do something. I need my fix. It would be cool to have some kind of get together within the next few months somewhere in the area. ;)

yeah, I noticed their website was up for sale last week. I never got a chance to attend the CC but I'm definitely in for a show or that Kings Island meet in the Spring.
Isn't Malabar Farm up Mansfield way somewhere?
I think my Aunt used to work there.

I'd go if it was in Mansfield... I live in Athens, which isn't nearly as far away as it was to go to CGE this year!

Well, according to the CCAG website (www.ccagshow.com), they plan to bring the meeting back next year, which is fine with me. I always enjoyed it. And, with the backing of the DP members/crew, we should be able to make this sucker sing even louder than in years past!
I suggest everyone start e-mailing the organizers with dealer/table queries, info request, etc. - so the organizers know that there is still interest in the show. Hopefully, this might prompt them into setting a date/arranging the location a bit faster.
I'm already planning on attending as a vendor if the show comes together. And there *will* be a surprise or two! And, if CCAG does NOT come together, I'll put something together in my own backyard. there *will* be an Ohio meeting one way or another.

:rocker:
As long as it doesn't involve me driving 10 hours in one day, I'll be there. LOL
Whew, that was rough.

i would dig just about any spot you pick. i live in st. marys.......or as some say......dead center between dayton and toledo, just off I75. and heading any place north or east is pretty easy. as long as it doesn't get too far east or too far south of columbus........the dead quarter of the state as far as i'm concerned.....then i'm in. i've never been to anything quite like this so i definitly wouldn't be a vender.....but what should i bring? i have a ton of stuff i would trade for an extra day to live at the least. i need more room for new junk :D

Well, for what it's worth, the Cinciclassic site is back up...no new news though :(

I am one of the organizers of the Cinciclassic event. The server that hosts the website was down for an update when it wasn't accesable.
The event has been delayed mainly due to the fact that the mall where we've had it the last two years told us "no way" this time. It doesn't look like we'll be able to hold it there anymore. Which isn't all that bad since we were looking to expand the event to a larger venue.
We now have a space where we can certainly hold the event. It is looking like there will be another Cinciclassic for sure but, not until the Spring of 2004. Also, even though I won't be attending Phillyclassic this year, I promise Cincyclassic will not be held near the same time as Philly.
I'm pushing the person who updates the website to post the news so please hang in there to everyone who supports the event!

Sweet, a Cincinnati classic gaming show would be awesome! MattG, which mall was it that told you "no"? And any idea on where it might be this year?

The Forest Fair Mall said no due to renovations. The event most likely will be at Rupp Arena in Dayton (just North of Cincy) or in a large banquet hall on the eastside. Both lacations are just off the highways.

Glad to hear progress is still being made on Cinciclassic...just one question (the stickler in me...)
Rupp Arena in Dayton
Unless I'm wrong, Rupp Arena is in Lexington, Kentucky...Hara Arena is in Dayton :)
Either way, I'm looking forward to going to a show...
