View Full Version : Flattening Game Boy Boxes

It occurs to me that I might be able to get more space (and space is in increasingly short supply) just by flattening the boxes of all of my fine old Game Boy games.

However, this poses something of a problem. Around when the GBC came out, Nintendo was using cardboard inserts in the boxes, but before that they used clear plastic things to hold the carts in place. And these clear plastic things do not flatten. (I hope somebody knows what I'm talking about.)

Is there some clever non-destructive means of storing these plastic things that might not have occurred to me?

You mean the plastic trays and not the snap cases, right? You might be able to get away with just stacking them together and tucking them somewhere. It's been awhile since I ever saw one of those.

Yup, just the trays.

(The GBA games don't come with snap cases, do they?)

If the plastic cases you are talking about are the same ones that Nintendo.com still sells for holding individual GB/GBC games, then they certainly do nest against each other for easy stacking.

I flatten all of my GBA and SNES boxes.

I should really do that... I have a LOT of them and no place to display them yet. Would that be as good a method for n64 boxes?
