G1 Jockey vs. Gallop Racer

Has anyone put time into these games? I've played a bit of Gallop Racer 2001 but after reading Greg Wilcox' G1 Jockey 3 review I'm considering buynig another horse racing/breeding sim.

I played the original Gallop Racer on PSOne, It was fun, but only because my college buddy owned a couple race horses, and kinda got me into the track scene... The game takes immense amounts of time to set up, manage horses, but provides an accurate simulation of the "sport." I am not sure about GI or GR 2001, although I'd assume GR 2001 is just an upgrade from the orginal. Apparently this Genre is really big over in Japan from what I have heard.

I've played some of G1 Jockey, and I can say that I liked it better than Gallop Racer. I can't place my finger on what exactly interested me, but I did find it a bit easier to play. I'll have to play them a bit more to give a solid recommendation.

I've played Gallop Racer 2001 for months. Great game, i would love to see something top it. Yeah and it does make me want to go to the track more often. Woo Arlington!
