Does anyone know if Sega CD uses a different AC adaptor than the Genesis unit does? I'm only asking because I'm looking at buying one without an AC adaptor and want to know if they're hard to get. If they're different, does anyone have a line on a cheap Sega CD adaptor?

If your talking original Genesis model 1 (the one with the volume control)
The answer is definatily YES, Thats output:9 VDC 1.2 amps

When it comes to power supplies I've made a study of them.

Sega CD uses the same type of AC adapter as a model I Genesis. The voltage is, of course, the same as a II or III, but the II/III adapter end is like 2mm smaller than what will fit on a model I or a Sega CD.

If you can't find a secondary Genesis I AC adapter per se, then you can also use the AC adapter for an Atari Jaguar. Hope this helps.
