Silly Dreamcast Question.

I just got a DC through trade, and I'm somewhat saddened by the idea that the spiffy 56k modem on this thing will probably never be used.

Unless...are there any games for the DC that suport a direct PPP dial-up a la the original Doom? Seems like there should be one or two titles that allow this, as opposed to dialing into the all-powerful and nigh-shutdown Dreamcast central server?

You can still browse the web if you provide local 56k provider information. There are files to be had, my good man!

I want to say that there are, but I've never tried it. If I get a chance I'll do a little digging. I think it all depends on the game.
