Read the article and see what the graffiti said. Can't understand why it went bad. It was always such a nice, quiet little videogame console. Kept to itself mostly. (http://www.thisisnorthscotland.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=84106&command=displayContent&sourceNode=83936&contentPK=6893773) :D

I have a strange liittle story to add to this. For years I tried to get a working copy of Kung Fu Master for my 7800. I tried dozens of carts and nothing worked. Then one day I happend to call SEGA to get a copy of the walkthrough for Y's #1 for the SMS. As we were talking I found out this guy once worked for Atari and he told me something I honestly did not know, and that was. That some progammers in order to get more out of the 7800 graphic wise used a non-standard program to write there games. But with that Atari discovered this caused a problem with most of the 7800s'.
So begining the second or thrid year of actual sales Atari changed the program the 7800s' processor was using so the game will no longer freeze and shift colors. Then later I tried the game on one without and IO port and it worked.

"Police have confirmed they are searching for the culprits - but are unable to shed any light on the meaning of "The Famicom"."
Someone should email them and let them know there is a rampaging videogame console on the loose.
An interesting bit:
In F-Zero GX, one of the chapters involves the main character (Captain Falcon) dressing up and secretly entering a race under the name "Famicom".

I loved this part:
"And what is this 'Famicom'?" LOL
Maybe it's a whole gang of Famicons out there rampaging the streets! What happened to the good old days when Video games were respectable and the only violence was directed at space aliens or giant rocks? It's these violent games, I'm telling you! They're degrading the moral values of our consoles! "Our X-box was such a nice console until our son bought Grand Theft Auto. Next thing you know the system is staying out all night, hanging around bars with those, those pinball machines! One night we caught the machine outside smoking a cigarette for cripes sake! It's disgusting I tell you!"
What if there are other console gangs out there? Maybe a gang of Jaguars prowling the streets and pimping out pink Game Boys? Perhaps there are a bunch of PS2s out there smashing windows and collecting "protection money"?
We can't forget the old gangs from twenty years ago now can we? Remember the big rumble of 85 when a bunch of 2600s met a gang of Intellivisions? It was a massacre. Carts were flying everywhere and joysticks were whirling around causing all sorts of mayhem! And let's not forget the insults and epiphets they were hurling at each other! "We're Intelligent television you losers!" "Your games suck!" "Oh ya? Can you spell PACMAN?" Luckily no one was killed in the fracas but one 2600 was hurt so bad he could only play ET after that. Good times. Good times.

:above me: Funny as crap. I was thinking that the you don't build these consoles this way. You give them good values, they learn them from the other consoles in school. You sit them down next to a Genesis screaming "SEGA" all wierd, and what do you expect?

I'm pretty sure that it's all of the "X-treem" games that are leading to console hooliganism. Since I can't think of any X-TREME!!1!!one! games for the Famicom, I'd lay odds that it was goaded into this shameful act by a PSX and an N64.
Bargora makes me laugh because he is silly.
Silly? Silly? This. Is. An. Outrage. Exclamation Point.
Prepare yourself for vendetta, oobgarm. The forms of kanly shall be strictly observed.
