I could do that but it will take a long time. This pawn I am going to has around 1000 games for all kinds of systems. That is the reason I was asking thanks for your help though.
for systems, i'd say anything you hadn't seen before. depending on the price.

Forget about rarity. Buy the games that YOU WOULD LIKE TO PLAY. O_O

@kai - alright, no one else is going to say it, so I'll just come out and do it. I don't know whether you own a DP guide or not, but no one here is going to give you rarity information that can be found in that guide. Why? Because we all like to post here, we like DigitalPress, and selling the guide keeps DigitalPress afloat. So, sorry, nothing personal, but you're very unlikely to get free info from the board members on this particular point. But, just to let you know, I don't own a guide (yet!) and I also don't collect for atari, yet just by posting here I've picked up a few hints on what's rare. You might try checking back through the archives.

I understand what you are saying. Why should I get something for nothing? I guess I should have looked around a little more.
Mods feel free to delete move or lock this topic as it serves no purpose except to waste space.

Come now - nobodys' being very forthcoming with their information, and there's really no reason why he should be, either. Yes, he really should look at the guide, but you can't expect him to give up the location of X on the treasure map :)

While naturally I'd *like* people to buy the books for this kind of info, I don't *expect* them to. This is a free gaming community, you don't have to support it if you can do so with good conscience.
That said, here is a complete list of every rare game (8's, 9's, and 10's) in our database.

I'm surprised not see Snatcher on the Sega CD on that list, considering how hard I had finding a copy and how much they always seem to go for....more then some of the games on that list.

Snatcher, though in demand high enough to command a lofty price on ebay is not that tough to find. On any give day, you can easily turn up a dozen or more of them on ebay. That's not to say that you'll find one if you go to ten garage sales, but they're out there. ;)

It's across system - the book defines the description, which should apply to every game in the book (and upcoming "advance edition"). The newer stuff needs work though, so bear with us. Much of this is still work-in-progress.

LOL Yeah that's quite the list DP posted there. I count 6 of those in my collection. Would be 8 but I sold off a couple platforms altogether. Luckily I don't actively collect for most of those!

Sometimes I think that games you can ONLY find on EBay like Snatcher SHOULD be considered a very rare game. :D
Espeicly considering how much money they go for.....
I could make a case for Suikoden II for the PSX and many WD games fitting that also. LOL

Naah. Rare means there aren't many out there, period. There may not be that many "in the wild" but if you can turn up a dozen copies at any given time on-line, it's not rare.
Air Raid is rare. You're just not going to find many of those no matter where you look.
Snatcher is not that rare. You might not find one in the wild, but if you jump on-line, you can snag one without much difficulty.

I'm surprised to hear that these games are supposed to be rare.
Atari XE Bristles (First Star)
PlayStation Psychic Detective (Electronic Arts)
SNES Zero: The Kamikazee Squirrel (SunSoft)
Vectrex Polar Rescue (GCE)
Especially Zero, I seem to see this game in every Gamestop that I go into.
Also, Were the Genesis and SMS left off of this list or are there just no rare games for these systems?

Finding a dozen copies of a game on EBay is one thing. But we all know thats it's inflated on that site 99 percent of the time. Find me a copy of one of those games that actually sells close to what it did when it first came out. :) It seems like high demand = high price, no matter how many were produced.

I have that one complete :)
Saw a loose one some weeks ago selling for around 20-30 euros.
