I JUST RECENTLY ORDERED A PHILLIPS CDI 450 FROM THE U.K. I LIVE IN NEW YORK .WHEN I RECIEVED MY ORDER I ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM. EVERYTHING THAT WAS SENT TO ME INCLUDING THE POWER SUPPLY WAS MEANT FOR THE U.K.(PAL).THE QUESTION THAT I HAVE, IS HOW CAN I GET THE CDI TO WORK IN THE U.S IF THE THE POWER SUPPLY IS MEANT FOR THE U.K? IS THERE SOME KIND OF CONVERTOR THAT I NEED TO BUY? PLEASE HELP...THANK YOU.

You have to buy what is known as a caps-lock converter. It steps down your font size to readable level, thus enabling further help.

LOL, very true, and very helpful, but seriously I know when I was in a german hotel they had converters already in the rooms so I am not sure the converters worked both ways, plus I never seen these in the us.

I KNOW I saw a power supply converter kit at Office Max of all places. It was designed for business travelers, and it enables you to convert UK to US, or vice-versa, all in the same little device. Includes other countries as well. Don't know if they still have them, but they looked pretty cool.

WOW, strange how they are at so many places yet somehow I never came upon one. I gotta keep an eye out for this though it mite actually come in handy for my collection.

KEEP IN MInd that the video format is PAL. So there are two conversions you need to make, power and video.

Well keep in mind that whenever you buy something from Europe it is a PAL system, unless noted otherwise!
BTW, I regularly see people spelling 'Phillips' instead of the right spelling 'Philips', why?

They're getting it confused with the screwdriver.

You might just need a plug-in convertor. It all depends on whether or not the console can accept multiple voltage inputs. For example, I live in the US but bought my laptop in the UK. The PSU is a UK plug, of course, but I just have a small adapter which allows me to plug the UK plug into it, then the adapter is plugged into the regular US socket. That's because the PSU for my laptop can accept a voltage input of 110v to 240v.
As others have said, Radio Shack and similar places will sell them. You might want to check it out because they should only cost a few dollars.
