What do you guys think of this?
tradespot.com
at least now you can see how badly gamestop will rip you off if you sell them your games.
Just an example here is what you can get for your suikoden collection : about 40.00 for all three
Suikoden ~ PlayStation (1996)
Media: Game Upc: 083717170136
Save for Later We Pay 9.97
Suikoden II ~ PlayStation (1999)
Media: Game Upc: 083717170426
Save for Later We Pay 21.38
Suikoden 3 ~ PlayStation 2 (2002)
Media: Game Upc: 083717200451
Save for Later We Pay 7.12
or sell them on ebay for 127.00 +++

I wonder if gamestop requires you to send the game, box and manual so they can throw the box and manual out.
what a friggin joke

The website offers different prices than the stores do. As an example, Suikoden II is worth $30 in stores. Not a huge difference, but its still $8.50 more.

I don't see why anyone would ever want to sell any video games to them period them and all others like them just basicly steal your money so they can make quite a much bigger profit.

Quite right. I NEVER trade games into EB. I can get MUCH more money selling it on EBay or Amazon. Enough to recoup most of the money spent on it. It makes me a little more bold in buying new games.

Just as a note, you'll see Suikoden III's prices drop as it's the first Suikoden to be re-released. The new shipments hit stores a week or so ago and retail at $29.99. I feel real bad for all those who bought used copies off eBay for $60+

PLEASE NOTE: TradeStop.com is operated independently of GameStop, Inc. and trade-in pricing at GameStop stores will vary. Please visit your local GameStop store for more information on in-store pricing. The pricing you see on TradeStop.com is based on the combined experience gained from the sale of hundreds of thousands of used titles through various outlets.
Besides, you're getting cash here, not trade in. Of course they're going to give less, because they aren't guaranteed that you're going to spend your money there. CD shops have been doing this for years and I don't hear anyone complaining. :hmm:

Also, let's remember:
most of Gamestop and EB's customers aren't hardcore gamers and don't have the slightest clue how to operate eBay's selling feature. That, and you can't very well tell little 14 year old Johnny to wait 7-17 days for the auction to end and get his cashola! NO! 14 year old Johnny cares about the here and now of trading in his old games for Grand Theft Auto: Bloody Mess, which his parents won't let him buy anyhow!
(man, I should have slept last night)

Not to mention, legally, little 14 year old Johnny isn't ALLOWED to use eBay.

Yeah, well, a 14 year old should'nt be PLAYING GTA anyway!
But at least at my local EB the employes do a good job of saying to kids and parents "You DO know this a is M rated game, right?" and then explain quickly what that game has. Some parents just don't know. Others seem like they could care less. Still, they try. :D

Are these PSX reissues like the "Greatest Hits" or similar? Or are they going onto a different console(s)?

Hey, anyone notice the irregular pricing? Like on the music CDs.... they adjust prices as to quantity... and even stop buying when they have too many! Screwjob to the max.

In the future, all games are Grand Theft Auto.

So they are going on PS2 instead of PS1? I and II were on PS1, and III is on PS2, I believe....
Anyways....Fuck! (Don't have a PS2)
Re-printed/re-pressed would be the same exact product. These would be re-issues ala Final Fantasy Chronicles or Super Mario All-Stars...

So basically the lesson here is "lets screw little 14 year old Johny because he's young, dumb and he doesn't know any better."

Nope, because if 14 year old johnny wants cash-money he needs his parents ok anyhow. I can't control what the company gives for trade in credit and cash prices, likewise I can't control how parents raise their kids to make good decisions and the virtue of patience. It's not my fault if they don't know how to operate eBay or any other means of getting rid of their games for more money, nor do I take the time to care to. All I know is that I get paid to take peoples trade ins if they bring them up. If everyone wants to bitch about the prices that Gamestop, Eb, etc. gives for games, why don't we bring up the method of pawn shops? They don't give a shit wether you've got Madden 99 or Suikoden II, you're going to get the same amount of cash either way.
It's funny, people here complain about the shit trade in prices these stores give, but then the next week they are "Hooray! I got Stadium Events for $4.99! Those idiots!" about their find. Funny how things change, huh? x_x

Well gee if everyone sold their games on e-bay and always knew what their games were worth there would never be any "finds"... in reality its a good thing.. its also the way a business runs, buy it cheap, sell it for more

Ive never sold anything to gamestop. I went there once to trade in a SNES game, and they said 10. I thought they meant 10 dollars, but they meant 10 cents.
