I just posted this in weekday finds, but today I had an annoyingly frustrating situation at EB Games...
I went into the newest area store to find cheap PlayStation and Dreamcast games as usual. This store is the last one in the area that even accepts DC games for trade-in, which is irrelevant, but a travesty nonetheless. Anyway, I walk up to the counter with my stack and say hello to the manager who recognized me from the last time I came into that store.
She didn't ring me up. Instead, some guy I hadn't seen before did. The manager asked me if I found any DC games I didn't already have. Before I could answer, the moron ringing me up chimes in and says "Yeah, those Dreamcast games are hard to get." I didn't say anything. Then, he proceeds to inform me that "that Dreamcast Gundam game is hard to get. What is it called, 'Blue Flame' or something? You won't find that anytime soon."
I grimaced and informed him that I knew the names of all 248 [domestic] games, but I appreciated his info. While he's jawboning, he's supposed to gather my discs and place them in the bag, but somehow he leaves 2 of my PS games on the counter. I didn't see what he was doing behind the counter when he went to grab my GBA games, so I didn't notice.
I get away from the store to notice that my games never made it into the bag. When I went back into the store, the manager didn't believe it at first. Then, I showed her my receipt and there were my games waiting for me.
I'm sure you guys have various opinions, including "You should have checked your bag before you left the store!" Does everybody here really do that? Still, I wonder if this situation has happened to anyone else. Also, does anybody think that moronic game store employees should only stick to "Did you find everything today, sir?"
I've sold games before myself, so this isn't intended to challenge or offend the intelligent game store employees that frequent this site. Just the stupid ones that FORGET to add the GAMES...

Was the store busy? It happens to all of us, I'm sure. I know I've done it before. :embarrassed:
Hey Brisco: "Spyro for Lady" ::shudder::

Nope, it was 1:30 in the afternoon. Tumbleweeds were rolling through the store's wide aisles...

I still have a bad taste in my mouth after buying Ellemntal Gimmick Gear from an EB a 5 hour drive away from my place... I came home and of course there was NO cd in the case. Granted I only paid $15 back then and I can get one for $3 now but I was still a bit pissed. :)

Yeah, I've botten lots of games from stores and every once in a while someone forgets to put a disk or game in the box.
Last time a store left out a Monkeybone DVD, so I called them and had them send it to me.

I always watch the employees put the games in the bag. If I do not see them do it I usually check what's in the bag on my way out.

I've never had that happen, but I have bought a brand new, sealed cd on the release day, only to get it home and find out the cd was missing.

I had something similar like that happening to me. I bought excitebike for the ecard reader. I got home and opened the package to find out that cards 3, 4, and 5 were missing.

LOL, that dude must of been on something, most of the time it's a pleasure shopping at game specific stores like the one you mentioned, though every now and then theres always that dude that don't know much about games or anything else really, and it makes you wonder how the hell did he get hired in a store like this.

:embarrassed:
For the first time in three years, I did that last week. I felt really aweful and embarrassed and I'm pretty sure my face turned beat red. Luckily the guy was really nice and wasn't visably annoyed with me.
As a manager, if one of the GA's forget's to put the game in the bag, I just ask to see the reciept and send them out with a full one. No other questions usually asked.
Give him a little slack though, if you haven't seen him there before maybe he's new? If he does it again, kick him in the shins! :-D

you always check at the drive through at mcdonalds, why not at some place that costs 10x as much as a cheeseburger?

I will say Iv met my share of really bad employess or manages at stores like gamestop and eb, but their not all bad, and it is an honest mistake, if you ever work in retail you might understand, as the old saying goes sh*t happens hehe, let it go and enjoy your finds :-)

While I have never missed putting something in the bag but I have accidently put the display case in someones bag...twice...in the same day. The good thing about that is you realize it as soon as you pick up the case (or at least I did) that it's not empty. They both called back later that day and since I knew what I did, I got to explain it to them. Sometimes people do stupid things.

A few years ago I was on a trip and...I stopped at a EB that was very far from where I lived..
I needed a couple Big box PS games to try and complete a collection..
I found two minty looking big boxed re-sealed(by them) games I needed..for good prices..(clearance rack)
The store was empty/desolate.. but the employees were very nice..
I asked if the Cd's/Games were in the boxes..the employee said yes.
Ok..I felt confident and went on the rest of my far away trip..When I got home I didn't check these right away..
A few days went by and I decided to check on the Cd's conditions and test the games out.
I was in Shock..I opened the boxes to find no games....Oh man what do I do,,I was pissed..
This place was too far to go back too.
I called them and they really didn't have any answers..They told me to call back and talk to the employee who sold me the games..
He was off and would be back 2 days later,,More time wasted..
I finally get to talk to him 2 days later and he remembers the transaction but can't find the games..I'm on the phone for awhile.. while he's looking..He tells me to call back..I do..He says call back again later..it's getting later now....he doesn't know what to do..
He re-opens all the Big PS boxed games to find no discs in any of them..and all the discs are missing..
Now,I'm in a employee store theft problem.
I want my damn games already..They're not even offering a refund..
I would have to drive there to get it..Might as well just get my games.
They said I would have to drive back to get the games anyway..after I told them how far I lived from the store..
No other options offered..
He says call back the bext day..I call up and they didn't find then yet..Then I find out that this employee is working most of the day.."Road Trip"
I drive all the way down there..more money, more time..Damn what I do for games..
I get there and he finds the games in no less than 5 minutes..He makes it look good going through drawers etc..
I get my games and he's doesn't even say I'm sorry about that..Whew.. :hmm:
Sure,.. I could of said the heck with it but it was the run a round they kept giving me that gave me the drive....I wanted my damn games..
Now I check everything before I get away from the stores...
My wife really hates that.. :D LOL
