After so much time in making, it's finally here: SIC, finished and ready to ship. :D :D :D 8)
Just check these rough pictures.

Space Invaders Collection game package consists of:
- Games: Two faithful arcade conversions: Space Invaders and Space Invaders Part II. An useful Options screen allows you to select between several different screen types, US/Japanese versions and arcade settings.
- Cartridge: The game cartridge is made of brand new 32KB EPROM and a circuit board featuring gold plated contacts. Graphic artist Dale Crum (Ataricart) designed the label, which is offset printed and plastic coated. First batch of cartridges is assembled from recycled Coleco cases, but future runs (starting late October) will use custom cases featuring a nice high relief Opcode logo engraved in the back (picture shows cartridge made of recycled case).
- Manual: Jess Ragan (JessCREATIONS*) wrote the vibrant 16 pages full color manual, which is also offset printed. Dale Crum was responsible for the stunning artwork. (see picture)
- Box: Dale Crum designed and illustrated the full color, offset printed and durable cardboard box. (see picture)

Is there any chance for those of us that -just- got Colecos (i.e. me) to jump on this? Or was it pre-order only? If so, I guess I missed out on a great program, as I'd have loved to grabbed this.

*sniff* beautiful. I want to take this time to thank achika for providing me with a colecovision bounty those months back so that I could enjoy this title.

Looks like it's gonna be worth the wait. It looks even more professionally packaged than some of the commercially released games for the ColecoVision!

Well, my main problem right now is I don't have enough cases to fulfill ever my existing pre-orders list. But it will change in about a month, as I will have brand new custom cases available, as much as I want.
So I would suggest you to send me an email at eduardo@opcodegames.com asking to be placed in my reservation list. This way your copy would ship as soon as possible.

Fuck yeah opcode that looks AWESOME. You know I'm a S.I. freak and that thing is just what the friggin doctor ordered. Something faithful (eerily so) to the arcade game and for play on the classic consoles. Thanks for doing this :) I eagerly await the release :D

YOU ARE DA MAAN!

Any chance of a Donkey Kong Collection featuring Arcade perfect remakes of DK, DK Jr & DK3 with all the intermissions, and hidden features, etc... just like the SIC.

Just curious.

PS: Ever think about making Colecovison quality remakes of popular games from other systems? Ex: Intellivisions AD&D TReasures of Tarmin except with better graphics and such. Basically remake the gme to take full advantage of the CV power and sound/graphix.

DK Collection is a serious possibility. But I haven't decided yet that I will do after Pac-Man Collection. It could be DKC or maybe an original game...
I find it fascinating that so many CV fans want a more faithful DK conversion.
Right now I want to enjoy the good time I am having porting Pac-Man. This game is so beautifully done. By the way, I found that 255th stage bug. Should I correct it?

I feel a little embarrassed asking you this but, are you in my list? :embarrassed:
Sorry, I can not find your name here... You're Chris, right?
Please let me know if I am messing up things... x_x
About the package, Dale Crum designed it. Jess wrote the manual text, which is as very much enjoyable as all his writings.

Hey ED, KEEP the stage 255 bug, I think veteran Pac-man players would LOVE to see it.

And have you considered adding any Pac-man hacks to the Pac-collection. I think it'd be fun to see Piranha, Pac-Popeye, or Crash as part of the collection.

Also keep the 255 glitch. Thats a classic one!

Hi Eduardo,

By the way, I found that 255th stage bug. Should I correct it?

I vote to keep it in.

How about allowing the user to remove it by a game option. That way both sides could be satisfied.

Actually, I wrote the manual... Dale Crum was responsible for its layout and artistic direction. Just thought I should clarify that in case anyone gets the wrong idea.

I was going to suggest that, but seems you beat me to it. I'll heartily second it though.

Opcode,
It's neat that you can get these arcade games running faithfully on the CV, but IMHO I would much rather see some of the many very cool arcade games that have never been released on any system ported rather than improved versions of games we already have. I looked at the poll you have on your site and there's already excellent versions of Dig Dug and Moon Patrol available for CV. I thought the Atarisoft Pac-Man was good, though not arcade exact of course.

Oh yeah, there's lots of great stuff that's never been ported to home systems. I for one would LOVE to see SnapJack (http://raccoonlad.topcities.com/snapjack.html) on the Colecovision

But Ms Pac-Man is an all time classic and it isn't available for the CV. :-D
I understand your point, but you see, sometimes it is difficult to make everybody happy. I just cannot think of many arcade games that have never been release on any classic system. Maybe Zookeeper, but it isn't very suitable for the CV hardware. Lots of CV fans have asked me to port Dk and I find it...well... funny. But I understand the reason: almost every CV fan relates DK to CV. It was the pack in game, so it is the game everybody think of. Again, I agree with you somewhat, but just think: for every classic arcade game you will find many clones. How many DK clones there are for the CV? How many Pac-Man clones? The fact there was a clone of Pac-Man available (Lady Bug) didn't stop Coleco of releasing Mouse Trap and so forth, because every clone plays differently. Most classic ports are not really ports IMHO. They are more like versions, made by visual inspection. CV's DK simply don't play like the original DK. Ok, sometimes it's impossible to duplicate the gameplay due to technical issues, but most the time we can get really close. Some people will say if they wanted exact gameplay they could just play it on MAME, but for me, capturing those games as precisely as possible is a real challenge and too exciting to resist... :)

I was thinking about Pac-Man Plus (sorry, I never remember the first part of the name. Something like "Exciting New". Please Jess, help me here :) ).
Or maybe the Coleco tabletop versus mode...
But I am not sure if it will be possible due to the final game size. PMC will need a bankswitch scheme for just PM and Ms PM...

I guess the official name is just plain "Pac-Man Plus", but I always call it "Exciting New Pac-Man Plus" because that's what it says on the marquee.
