What gives? I like having the "Introduce Touself" as a sticky topic. I visit that topic often and it's a lot harder to visit when it's not a sticky topic.
Please sir, could you make sticky? :(

It was on purpose, and since you asked, here's what's up:
I've arranged with the mods and several others to make the introductions to new members a little more personal by welcoming them and "pointing" them to the Introduce Yourself thread. It's something I'd like EVERYONE to get involved in, really. A thriving online community should do more to welcome new people into the fold.
So the general message goes like this:
Welcome to the forums!
You'll find that this community has an answer for every question and a response for just about every thought. Makes for an interesting place to discuss, this hybrid of gaming aficionados and wise asses :) Actually, we'll do everything we can to make you feel "at home" here. You'll soon see that there's a community behind it all, full of people who have made the Retrogaming Roundtable their home.
If you have a moment, please introduce yourself at this thread:

Enjoy your stay!
Feel free to cut and paste, personalize or customize to your style, and when you see someone post for the first or second time, use it as part of your reply. Like everything else, this is an experiment and could change back, let's see how it goes!

Having the introduction thread as a regular (non-sticky) post might encourage more interaction between members. If a new member posts, a more experienced member should direct the newbie to the 'Introduce Yourself' thread where they can introduce themselves and find out more about other members. Once the newbie posts his/her introduction, the thread will once again be placed at the top of the front page like other topics. This, in theory, should bring members closer to each other. We've got plenty of posts in the intro thread, but many of them never post anything.
Having a veteran member say "Hello. Glad to to have you here. Please introduce yourself at this link (the intro thread)." to a newer member may very well promote more activity not only from new members, but from older members as well. More interaction brings more input, and more input brings more ideas. Right now, there's lurkers reading this. And these lurkers may have some questions about a game or console. Hell, they may even have some great ideas for DP to hear regarding the site. If we get more members to communicate and interact, the site can only get better (knock on wood) :D
So, this may very well be a good thing for the site. Let's try it on for size, eh? :)
