Check the latest bid price. Here is a fine example of what happens when 2 newbs go after an item. Truly insane!!

I have no idea, so I'll ask the veterans, what's a "normal" price for that game?

Anybody know what the BIN price was?

Normal price on this game, complete, is usually $20 to $30 (at the very most). I have no idea what the BIN was, I just stumbled across this auction since it is one of the games I need for my SNES collection.

How many SNES games are there total?

I thought my namesake game would go for more then that. :D

Actually, it was a good game at best. But it did have some unique elements to it and I don't think it got a high print run. I'll have to check to see what the rarity thing on it is.

Page 18 of the DP rarity guide for SNES. "Total listed cartridges: 724" listed under the final entry. The gudie is in the "rarity lists" in the regular website, not the forums.

Good, I'm glad to see that people do what they're expected to do.

Hey, sometimes newbies DO pay. I recall selling my GC keyboard on EBay last year. Thought I could get my $100 back on it. Sold it to a newbie at the last minute for $300! :o

They paid also! :D

I was laughing all the way to the bank. LOL

Testicles, that's a lot of cash. I just can't fathom paying that much for SoulBlazer. Those guys must be pretty dense. It's just crazy to let bidding wars get THAT out of control.

Me too, but I was not expecting it at all. The ratio of excessive bids by newbs gone wild to people who pay them, I would guess, is very low.

Do the noobs get buyer's remorse and just not pay?

I get lots of new bidders on my auctions....95% end up paying. Usually the people who win something for $5 or less don't end up paying.

Also those new people log on for a reason, because whet they are looking for they cannot get in their area and probably have been looking for a long time, and they don't relize that most stuff goes up for auction at least a couple times a month.

I like the heading on this thread, so I'll throw a recent example (from another system) into the ring:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3044611159

This from a seller who has always had a stack of them in similar state ... of course, now I notice a high-feedbacker pumping the price ... hmmm ...

Am I missing something here?

What did the seller do wrong in the Omega Race auction?

Darth Vader

I am guessing he thinks there is shill bidding going on. I am not up to date on the CV stuff enough to comment on the price of the auction. I know the cart only doesn't go too high though.

I don't think the seller did anything wrong ... sorry to leave anyone with that impression. What I meant was that there was no way this should have hit $50 had the bidders known the full context. It's a common game. It's even commonly boxed. Sealed ... well, pretty common given that the seller here has been listing them on eBay for at least the last year, on and off, from the same stockpile.

I don't believe there was any shill bidding. I just found it odd that a bidder with so much feedback was stirring up the frenzy a bit toward the end -- somewhat in violation of the "newbies gone wild" title.

Not a $50 game, sealed or not.
