Gameboy Color System Box Proof of Purchase removal

I bought a brand New GBC from Ebay only problem is that the system box has this pretty big proof of purchase sticker.The guy who sold it to me tried to remove it and it took some of it off but also damage some of the box. So I was wondering is there anyway to remove the rest of the sticker without further harm to the system box? :help:

I really would like to remove some of the yellow-nasty bar code stickers off these handhelds, but removing them kinda makes the thing look 'naked'. :(

GBA has a glossy coat over the bar code sticker, so at least they did something smart.
